Euro Truck Simulator 2
Discussion
Just had a massive moment doing a Rotterdam to Strasbourg ADT trip. Thought I caught the slide, but nope! Swung back into a huge tank slapper before jack-knifing and collecting the cars next to and behind me. Ah well. Only around 30% damage in one go. But the cutting out with 200 miles left was a bit of a pain!
Company is going well though. Two garages. (Stupidly, both in the UK... Plan is next one in Central Europe and move my drivers to there. Use the UK garages as a 'Training Centre' Haha. 3 drivers working for me and I am doing work for others at the moment. Going well, I get around 15k a job so far with my other drivers easily covering the loan installments.
Don't know how other people trained themselves up, but I mastered the Dangerous Cargoes and started Long Distance. Seems to get good money quickly for anyone just starting. Unless there is a better way.

I mastered all the Hazardous bits first, then opened a fragile one for cars, long distance for bigger journeys, and just earned a high value. Im focusing on those for now, my drivers strengths to get more cash in. Ill get the others up in a bit, just thinking of sacking one driver, he must be punishing my trucks, works out to be 200-300 euros a trip profit!!!

I had one of those. The other four were pulling £3-4k compared to £300-400. To be fair, I do spend around a quarter of each of my payments fixing the truck miniman said:

You lot must be playing this more than I.
Just did a few jobs for others to build up a few long distance skills and get some cash to top up a 100k loan. Ignored the 500k offer from bank.
Bought base spec Scania and been owner driver since then. Maxed out long distance skills and now bringing up eco dangerous and high value skills in parallel.
Paying off loan easily and accumulating cash at a ridiculous rate. Could afford to expand garage but all drivers appear deadbeats so far.
Having said that now off road as laptop back with mfr under warranty so hope my full backup will save the day.

Most 'agency' drivers require 3-4 days to 'settle in' and earn decent money, my early ones are now earning 3-5k per day.Just did a few jobs for others to build up a few long distance skills and get some cash to top up a 100k loan. Ignored the 500k offer from bank.

There's no question that I'm playing this far too much. I have a fleet of 10 drivers, all with matching MAN trucks, across 2 garages. I'm saving money to get a third garage, which I should get in a couple of days, and to paint the trucks with the same scheme, as at the moment they are just plain blue. I which I could take pictures of the fleet!
How do you guys feel about the limiter and power mods? After playing a little with no limiter, and 120kph limiter, and having a 1500bhp engine installed, I've now reverted to standard limiter and 740bhp (available as standard), as I found it had just made the game too easy, I could manage any urgent delivery even when taking 3 breaks... Now that I'm back to standard there is a lot more planning involved!
As such I think the only mods I run now are cosmetic...

I have the limiter removed but mostly stick to 56mph myself, bringing it up to 65ish on the motorways where so I can get more done in one session. It seems easier to keep the truck going up some slopes without slowing down as when having it pinned against the limiter or using the cruise.
Don't use any power mods but I've gone back to the R620 on my Scania.

but after a few jobs they begin to level up as u did at the start of the game
you can control what aspect they level up too and then they're earning good money
Starting to get very bored of these hired drivers, I was on this until the very small hours this morning and for the best part of a week in game time (obviously) they have both returned to the depot with no load and constantly charge me the guts of 700 euro a pop for the pleasure.... The only profit made was by me :/
Apart from this tiny issue I have been enjoying some of the longer distance runs, pay is starting to get very good too

It does happen from time to time as they can't always find a load from where they are back to your garage, it depends where you are based. They don't charge you as you only pay them for the delivery, but you have to pay for the fuel for them to come back...Apart from this tiny issue I have been enjoying some of the longer distance runs, pay is starting to get very good too
