Speed run - London to Bratislava in little over 12 hours; worked it out as an almost 80 MPH average speed, including the ferry! Would have been an 'Excellent' rating, but I took a long sweeping bend a bit too quickly, and noticed the trailer was tipping. I avoided a big crash, but still managed to do some damage to the trailer frown

Tried out some engine power and gearbox mods last night. The handling of the trucks is quite hilarious at this sort of speed (175 MPH in this photo)!

This happened shortly afterwards biggrin

I purchased this through my steam account on my phone whilst sitting in the pub earlier. I installed it just now and crashed as I left London on route to Cambridge. I called the recovery service and set on my way again then side swiped a Mini whilst navigating a tight corner. Decided that virtual drink driving is not a good idea. whistle Off to bed.
Playing ETS2 whilst drunk is a good advert for not drink driving tongue out I wish there was an instant replay function built in so I could share some of the more spectacular crashes. I also played after lots of wine the other day, ended up falling asleep and driving off the raised edge of a sliproad, getting huge air, and landing on my side having only just cleared the central reservation. The people of Katowice didn't get their shipment of frozen peas that day frown
Sorry for the late reply. It's actually quite fun in a laid back way and I imagine some of the loading bays get more difficult as you progress.

I tried the Xbox 360 gamepad and still prefer the keyboard and mouse.

Do employed drivers earn more as they get better skills?

I'm earning 25k a day, driver 1 is on 2.5k and driver 2 is on 500 Euros.

I need them to earn more to help fund a fully loaded top of the range Scania!!

Yep as they progress they earn more but never ime as much as you.

Also you get some belters, who really get good loads, and some deadwood, especially in the early days fail to get return loads.

One way to get get some cash fast is after you have finished a job go take a rest, I noticed your can take three rests in a row during that time your drivers will obviously bring in the cash faster.

I thought the speed limiter was just an option you could turn off?

I turned that and fatigue off. Makes the game slightly better.

I'm on 3 garages-
edinburgh (my base with just me)
Rotterdam - 5 trucks/drivers
Birmingham - 5 trucks/drivers.

All trucks are Man TGX with 440BHP engines. Apart from mine which is a Globetrotter XL 750BHP.

Just about to purchase a garage in the south of Europe, any suggestions ?

I'm stuck on adding the go east add on. It requires a product key which I don't have for it. I bought the main game on disc, I've tried putting in that product key, yet it doesn't work. Does anyone know what I need to do?

How did you purchase go east? With mine, I bought my copy of go east boxed from Game, and the product key was inside that box.

I got it from the Euro Truck Simulator website.

You should have received an email with a new code for the addon - perhaps check spam folders?

I didn't get an email. I didn't pay for it, so that might be why. I've just bought the add on via Play.com.

Multiplayer looks good. How many are in the same session at once?

Last night there were 1300 on the server.
Yes, one thousand three hundred.

Don't forget to beep your horn as you pass a fellow trucker.... note of warning though, it will render your single player driver garage useless as to make it work, it sets your drivers completion times to about 2,000 hours. So although you have all your in game trucks and garages, you don't get the income from your garages (but you keep the money you have when you first start).
A way around that is when you restart single player is to fire and rehire the drivers to reset them (but that is expensive and you lose their skills). So you might want to start a new multiplayer only profile.

Actually, to add found an easier workaround - just select a truck to drive from the truck menu, this will advance the game by the required number of hours for the job to finish thus basically resetting everyone to a normal schedule of jobs.
