In my view this next update will only make things worse for those not wishing to purchase gems constantly.
With no "free" shield from th snipes every time you're attacking the opponent will be aiming for the full 100%. In turn, if you're wanting to progress yourself the same will apply, it will reduce the fast and cheap barching for loot bonus as the bonus is now scaled based on % destruction. To gain decent loot going forward will require full army and spell compliment for each attack which is both costly, and slow (without gemming boosts), when you log off you'll be raided for all you've got

Aye only time will tell, all i can say is check the official forums/google for decent bases (at the moment im using a TH9 trophy base modified to protect my DE a little more) but im pushing to master at the moment but not enjoying it! im usually sat in Gold 1-2 which i have been for months with good success.
it will mean more loot as people cant hide behind shields. All i can say is people joing the PH clans (or any clan for that matter) load up your clan castle and try and get it in the middle of your base to try and make it unlurable!

You get max loot bonus at 70% destruction, but will need to hit all of the stores and town hall to get the stored loot. It's still worth having distinct war base designs that protect weak buildings, where it's all about destruction percentage and not loot.lemmingjames said:

Depends on your war base, mine has a few storages outside of the walls which obviously isn't what you want as your home base. You'll definitely want your th inside though, as this now contains a percentage of your stored loot, at th9+ this will contain 20% of your gold/elixir/de so like a leaving one of each storage outside!Update due on thursday (10th) btw

We do war occasionally just for fun so no pressure on winning but just for a change of scenery!

We just had our first war (close but lost to a clan with 80 wins) and now you can opt the non-actives out, we probably will have semi-regular wars for those who fancy it. I've been in all 3 clans at some point and they all have good level troops with quick donation times.

Yeah i had a look yesterday, we both have similar amounts of members. After the patch we may be able to merge due to the amount of people stopping after the update! I think the two pharming clans work well, have to see if the update impacts active numbers. Perhaps if we ever get to 4 clans, the others could 'close' for a while (perhaps until the new one gets to 20 members or something) to give it a chance. Although now you're kicking inactives (as will we if gets to that point), it's unlikely to fill up so quick.
