I never look in this part of the forum. Actually, I didn't know it was here. I love this game. I completed the first two also, and I've read all the books three times. I've got over 220 hours on Witcher 3 on PC but wouldn't identify myself as a Gamer generally. My wife has a lot of hours on it too on xBox.

I thought I recognised your name from the Facebook warship modelling page, great to see there is more crossover between that, TVR ownership, and good taste in gaming!
Just recently completed (well mostly) the Witcher 3 after approx 200 hours, I can't remember the last time I got so completely absorbed in a game as I did with this. Such an incredibly detailed world.
Had it for a long time, played the first game too but not the second yet though i do have them (a good GoG Sale)
I also got it on the switch but only dabbled a bit in that.
I havent played it since i got my ultrawide monitor and RTX 3070 so should run a locked 60fps now at 3440 * 1440.
I am currently at the bloody Baron quest line. Hope to restart playing once Mini 1138 has started nursery in jan

Thanks. Never really played this and know it won all the awards so giving it a punt. I enjoyed Skyrim after ignoring that for a few years. Will it be the same?Witcher III GOTY is on the Steam Autumn sale at £6.99
Also got CP2077. Both will be played on the SteamDeck when stuck in a hotel travelling for work as I have nearly finished GTA5 (again)

Went for it at this price, only had time to get through the tutorial bit, but can see why so many people were disappointed by Cyberpunk now............some one could have warmed me about the 'not kids bed time safe' opening credits!! Luckily my daughter had fallen asleep, by the time I had loaded up the game after messing around with graphics settings on the Fold.
Is the next gen graphics update coming to the PC version as well? - If so, I assume it's Raytracing support they will add? It looks damn good already even on a small screen, will see if I get the time to play it properly on the TV this weekend.
£6.99 for something this good, so many good pC games around these days for cheap, there are rubbish kids Android games around that charge almost as much just to remove ads!!

I've heard good things about this. I picked it up a while back in one of the sales. Started it today and I've had about an hour on it so far. Looks like the type of game I'm going to enjoy
Be prepared to lose your normal life to this game. I put at least 90 hours in during my first play through and was quite surprised how some of my actions gave me the final outcome. There are so many ways the games story can turn depending on your responses and interactions through the game.Truly stunning looking game too, some of the places you explore were worth it just for the graphics/views alone.
The other thing I'd point out to anyone coming new to the game, is that the first few hours are effectively a giant tutorial- don't be put off if you find this section tough going in places, as the game doesn't really truly 'open up' until after this section.
I experienced it myself on my first playthrough- I gave up after a couple of hours wondering what all the fuss was about. Then tried again a couple of years later and actually persevered through the opening section and boy was I glad that I did! I subsequently racked up just shy of 220 hours going through the main game and the two dlcs and I've never experienced a game with such depth of story telling, engaging characters, and so much player involvement in how things can pan out. There are very few choices in the game that have an obvious answer and even some very minor decisions can have big impacts further down the line.
I think this was probably the first game I've played where I actually found the gameplay secondary to the story- most games come up with a story to knit the sections of gameplay together, but with this I was more gripped by wanting to find out how the various story threads progressed than I was bothered about hacking apart bandits and monsters- as deeply satisfying as that is!
To sum up- don't be put off if you find the first few hours a bit slow going, there is a lot of hand-holding going on in that first part. The game (and the story) don't properly get going until after that first 'tutorial' section. It's just that there is a lot to get through in that first part so it's very easy to think that's all the game has to offer and wonder what all the fuss is about.

I’ve said the same on this thread about the first few hours of “intro” to the game, as I can distinctly remember being unimpressed and mildly annoyed by it. The Witcher 3 went on to be one of the best games I’ve ever played, and the only one where I’ve bought the DLC to be able to carry on playing in the world.

I'm not sure how many hours I've put in, I saw pretty much everything on the first playthrough, and I'm back on Death March at the point where I'm about to rescue Ciri again so not far to go. Hell, I've even ordered some gwent cards online just to have that st in the palm of my hands! Obsessed with this game and universe?? Never!!!

Only just got this recently, running it via GeForce Now. Have to say it looks pretty good for game released in 2015!! I've still got too many other games to finish before putting time into this, as it sounds like once you get into the game its all consuming!Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
