It could do with more racing circuits granted, some of the new additions like Spa and Bathurst are pretty dull to drive. Prague is the best course this time, but with no Fujimi Kaido or Rallye Positano, this Forza seems quite lightweight. The singleplayer seems to consist of alternating routes of the Le Mans Bugatti circuit, Sebring and Spa. It is dreadful. Simply saying "buy need for speed" isn't good enough, because NFS'S handling model has never been up to scratch.

No, what we really need is a new TDU, or less of a half-arsed Forza next time around.
Spa is dull....really!?!?
My thoughts exactly!

Bathurst too apparentlyconfused

I've raced it in online lobbies several times and the challenge of getting through the mountain section whilst keeping good pace without stacking it is a huge buzz!

Ditto your thoughts, they're the two best tracks!
TDU was awful, just free roam nonsense.

I have to say that I'm not quite feeling Bathurst yet but I've only driven it a couple of times. As for spa, well I can't believe anyone finds it dull, it's very fast paced and full of tricky turns, great circuit. Get rid of the fictional tracks, leave the test track for test driving and the top gear track for hot lapping and add more real world circuits please.

The only problem I have with Spa is that the large runoff areas mean people are cheating gits online.
Use the run off at Eau Rouge/Radillon and you gain about 3-5 secs. You can keep it pinned and use the massive runoff at Double Gauche to keep pace or overtake people when you overshoot the corner and of course just not brake for the Bus Stop and yeah you get slowed down but its a lot quicker than actually doing the chicane.

I wouldn't want any tracks cut from the game, I actually like the Swiss Alps track too boxedin

Yet again a stupid fking Drivatar taking a stupid, eratic fking race line on the same corner as the one I posted on the previous page:

Yes that is my McLaren, yes there was contact and yes I was off the track shortly after banghead

after playing for a bit you learn where they are mental and plan in avoiding action.

places to avoid are any heavy braking zone and any corner where given the right line you can go flat out or near to, they will be slightly off line and drop anchor causing all sorts of fuss

Whilst I agree the run off at Eau Rouge can take time off it is not the amount you state. I can run through there on line and it will be 2 tenths slower than the cut. As for cutting the chicane it is a common misconception that it is quicker. It feels quicker but is in fact not. You come in at the wrong angle and end up having to shed a lot of speed. Meanwhile someone who has taken the chicane has the speed on you to the first corner and that is that.

Yas Marina is just dire for corner cutters. I raced a guy last night who had his own racing line around the circuit and was so fast he was 3.2 seconds faster than the #1 time around the circuit!!

On the above corner it is hard to take it using anything but the correct racing line so how on earth they get it wrong here I'll never know.

Two places I also get caught out is going up the hill/round the bend in Prague and on the second corner after the big straight at Bathurst - totally random breaking points mean you ram them +30mph if your not anticipating it frown

Sorry I was a bit unclear I was talking about it in regard to racing and not hot lapping. eg if the pack bunches up going through Eau Rouge if someone goes around it on the runoff then they are way off in the distance. I accept that if you can get though unhindered taking the proper line is probably not much different.
You might be right about the bus stop cut being slower overall. its not a move I have tried but I have been speared on the exit enough times by someone coming straight across and presumed they could only do that if it was a quicker way of doing things.

1st time going through Eau Rouge behind the pack I will go as far left as possible and then hit the right hand apex and go over the crest as far right as possible. You can guarantee someone will hit the tirewall at the top and spear off into the pack so being as far right as possible means you stay out of trouble and let the dumbass's have their own crashes biggrin

I am not the greatest at FM5 and my tuning ability is almost non existant. However last night I wanted to do the "Track Toy" series so I had a look what cars were suitable in my garage. The KTM without any suspension/tyre tweaks was an absolute nightmare so I focused on the Exige I also purchased. Got it up to 700 and then used the ForzaTune app to create a base tune before tweaking it myself. I then potched about with the tyre pressures, ride height, downforce and the diff and suddenly I have a new favourite car:

Shes a bit lacking in the straights but my god the rate I can go round corners is simply amazing. The car "digs in" like no other meaning you REALLY have to provoke it to get the back end out. Its the first time I have felt proud of my tuning achievement on FM5, granted it may be rubbish in comparison to the best tunes but I absolutely love it - its certainly wetted my appetite for tuning, especially potching with the diff's.

Yup...was my thoughts. You will just see Hummers and Transits ramming now frown

At least the Chaparral will keep me away from those lobbies for a while.

How much of the new dlc is just old recycled stuff? I'm seriously regretting buying my xbox one for forza.

Any PH nights for Forza 5 yet? Graham and I went on some lobbies last night and were getting battered by people who made it their goal to smash everyone off the track.

I almost started a BTCC championship but got too over whelmed with work I didn't get a chance to go the chance to organise it. I think Homer was going to take over but never got round to it.

A PH Night is definitely needed. The public hoppers are full of wreckers and fk tards.

I do sort of have a life! Lol.

I'll be starting a new BTCC championship thread in the next couple of days as its taken me a while to work out rules and how I can run it within the shift pattern I work smile
