The 60's Brabham f1 car around the ring is an amazing, erm, challenge. Very impressed with the new model of the circuit.

Anyone gone sub 7 minutes an a standard P1 or LaFerrari? hehe
6:51 in the LaFrrrari and 6:56 in the P1.

Both dirty laps but once I get used to the track a clean faster lap will be easy.

Nurburgring has finally made me come back to the game. Looks stunning and is loads of fun.

I noticed the elevation in some parts a lot more than before in FM4
yes

Same applies to Laguna Seca.

I would love to see Turn 10 recreate Maple Valley Raceway in FM5.

How did I miss this!?

Now the nurburgring is back I will have to stick this back on, may even be time to shell out on a steering wheel.

You should see some of the tracks in Project Cars. 3D scanning to a whole new level.. Didn't even recognise parts of Silverstone and Laguna Seca it's so drastically different to what I've been playing for years.

Don't know if it's just a viewing/camera angle effect, but all parts of the track look narrower & the inclines don't 'feel' as steep as when I'm driving it for real.

Even in something like the Fiat 500 it looks like there's barely enough room for 2 cars to go side by side, when I know I've been three abreast in those same places.

Currently flying round the full circuit (no GP) in a stock E30 M3. Loads of fun but my times are dog slow! I blame the annoying light dazzling lol

Got me playing it again though.

On the old forza model, it was substantially wider by all accounts. I think the most obvious point on the old game was going down Fuchsrohre. When I drove the track in real life for the first time I was under the impression that there was plenty of room for the line to be straight through all of the corners, but it was so much narrower than the Forza version that there was quite a lot of turning involved.

I guess it's a bit of a question whether we want an accurate track or one that's good for racing.

I'd forgotten how hard it is to put together a clean lap (forget about the time).

However, my new alfa sz (in yellow) is very striking.

DLC cars - can they be won/bought in the game or are they only available via the marketplace?

I'd rather not shell out more of my hard-earned for cars which I can get just by playing the game.

AFAIK you buy the DLC packs with real money(either individually,by car pack, or with a season pass that gives you ALL packs) and then in game you buy the cars with game credits you earn by racing.
(I dont have FM5 but this is how it was in 4 & Im sure it hasnt changed)

It started out like that, but after complaints from users you get a one-off ability to buy the DLC cars for 0 credits/tokens.

Yep, I bought the season pass a while ago, in an update since then I could get the DLC cars in the game without paying game credits for them.

Good, that makes far more sense. Especially as people were using real money tokens instead of paying using credits in FM4,that's just crazy

Forza 5 servers just went down and took multiplayer and Rivals with it. I'd just done 9:58 in the 'ring Transit spec challenge 'I could do that in a van'. My time had better be saved!! furious
Servers back. Time not saved...
