They went down for me, and tweets were sent to turn 10 about it by a few other people too. Anyway, just done it again, got 9:57.5 (first lap from a standing start, getting a faster time after the first lap is cheating )

Given where you start on the 'ring you won't really get much of a benefit from a flying lap vs a standing start.

Finally bought an xbox the other day with forza 5, so how many people have got the season pass? I'm tempted but find it a bit annoying paying that much.

Depends how much you are going to play really. I play a fair amount so I deemed it worth it. Think to yourself, am I going to buy this is the long run... I waited and waited until one evening I was bored and just bought it. By this time I'd done most of the races so couldn't use the cars in new races. Bit of a first world problem but hey. The cars are worth though I'd say and you get them all for free, bonus!

I finally got a chance to play Forza 5 with a wheel (Thrustmaster TX) and my god it transforms the game. The steering feel and feedback is incredible - better than either Forza 4 or GT6 with a Fanatec CSR.

I appear to have some sort of glitch with my stats.. When I compare stats on my friends list I seem to have a massive difference. They have 20-30 hrs of play whereas I have 4875hrs. The only friend I have which is on PH is Gunph. So if you wouldn't mind checking your stats against mine please Gun that would be great to see whether you see the same.
Should I be worried whether the powers that be think I'm cheating?

Getting a wheel for Forza 4 totally changed the game for me. Im still not amazingly fast but it makes the game 1000 times more enjoyable. Cant ever go back to a pad now.

When I get an xbox one, a wheel is definintely on my must have list especially as im going to buy when the new Forza Horizon comes out. Should be brilliant

So go for another tranny (UPS Markings). Its way to slow as a standard setup to beat 10 minutes (Best I have managed is 10:39 clean), I cant see any way that I can shave 40 seconds off the time in a bog standard Transit.

It can only be a max PI of 280 which leaves it in D class. Anything higher and it'll be illegible.

It's easily doable at that PI, even from a standing start.

Revitalised FM5 for me. I got the TX last week on a whim to go with the Nurburgring and it's a huge improvement, the finer detail of the feedback makes it; going from a lotus with tight, precision steering, to a yank tank with a huge wallowy dead zone etc. Brilliant.

I used to race everything with TCS and STM off with a controller. With the wheel on simulation I've been humbled, can't control a B600 Ferrari without STM and hitting rewind a lot! Just glad to get into the top 3 but it is sooooooo much more fun.

Yep, my mate did it by the automatic upgrade, and for a weird reason it sets it 1 pi higher and illegal, go to the upgrades and take an upgrade down a level to get it to 280 and it will be fine. I'm currently at 9:57.5 from a standing start, my mate had done 9:59 but told me lastnight that he's beaten my time, so I'll have to have another go now

Moving back to a controller when I got the One was quite difficult, and as a result I started playing a lot more GT6 since my Fanatec obviously still worked with the PS3. Now I have to keep switching wheels on the stand depending which game I want to play. First world problems!

Down to 9:53 in the van with a standing start, a tenth or so behind SinStorm's ghost with a rolling start. Grr! Mate's time is a 9:51, don't know if that's standing or rolling start because I'm getting SinStorm's ghost

you do know you can choose which ghost you have, just need to select them as your rival, can even select yourself which I find helps a lot when trying to improve my times

I was never amazing but was fairly ok in forza 4 but it does seem 5 is slightly more humbling shall we say.

Got down to a clean 10:10 now need a setup with a touch more speed than the mix I have right now oh clean btw

It's maxed out with this tune but I am now within striking distance

There is an issue with the servers as I can't browse setups so I reckon your Cheevo may be waiting for the servers to sort themselves

I hope so, I don't often bother with achievements but I'm partial to a bit of ring so had to have a crack at this
