For any xbox one owners without Forza 5 it's free to play during this weekend (will stop being free to play Sunday night) if you have Gold

Info here: http://www.joystiq.com/2014/09/03/xbox-gold-subscr...

Well that explains why there were so many level 1 idiots in the lobbies this morning.

I really don't get why anyone would buy an Xbox one and NOT play online confused

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but on the couple of occasions when my internet has gone down my xbone refuses to allow me to sign in to any profile thus preventing me from playing offline despite MS telling us otherwise!

When I first got the XBone I was on holiday & after updating the OS via a mobile hotspot)soooo sloooow!) I was able to play FM5 offline, till I got home
But definitely, online is where its at,apart from the idiots who like to crash into you

Sorry great corn for not replying but by the time I updated egg box I didn't get a chance to try that tune, hopefully give a go tonight. I did 1 lap in it and it seems very lively under braking but that's the issue I have with it standard.

No worries mate, any feedback is welcome just don't be brutal! Lol

There are a couple of things I can try if you feel its too frisky under braking. S class is definitely out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed setting it up and testing it smile

I'm intending to and had started looking at a TVR based set build series but my flat is being renovated and the timescale has been utterly borked by the local authority I lease it from. Was meant to move back in sept, then October and it's now November.

Gonna have tons to do and no internet for sometime as they've fked that up too!

I really should put a post on the thread explaining this!

It's people not paying the subscription. I'd take a guess that a lot of them will be little kiddies whose parents refused to pay for Gold to avoid them interacting with nutters online. Kiddies turn their Xbone on last night, realise it's free, and go online for a weekend of screaming "!" at other players and crashing into them with Hummers, if it's anything like FM4.

Just bought an XBox One with Forza 5 this afternoon! biggrin Quick question ... I've added a body kit to one of my starter cars and the colour of the bumpers and skirts are 'off', no matter what colour I paint the car. Is this right? Are the virtual paint sprayers in F5 unable to match and blend? :P

Judging by the length of time since the last post on this thread is it fair to assume this has died on its arse??

Is it worth buying in its own right, and to play online or not?

Yeah think the game has been out long enough now that any questions or comments have been said. Still a thriving online community and well worth buying and playing by yourself as well as online

There's not enough cars, or anywhere even close to enough tracks. Online public lobbies are crap and full of people that do not actually wish to race. Lag is infuriating online. The offline 'career' mode is fantastically dull.

Only worth getting if you're going to race online in organised events as used to be quite common here on PH.

Used to race a lot on Forza 4 but sounds as though 5 never really took off in the same way. Always find single player stuff a bit tedious so would mainly be online - always used to be a nightmare to find a half decent lobby so didn't expect it to have changed much.

We need to get some PH racing going...problem is that with no car clubs its hard to organise something

Got it free with my Xbone, my first real experience of the Forza series I decided to try single player to get to grips with it.

"Fantastically dull" seems overly kind.

Here's yet another unskippable intro to a "championship", but you know, whatever; you don't need to win any of the races, which is handy because you can't "win" anyway and there's no reward or motivation for doing any of it.

Who creates a racing game where winning is of no consequence? It's like a football game where you don't need to score goals, or and FPS where you don't need to shoot anyone.

I'm not inspired to keep playing it, and I'm pretty glad it was free.
Single player is what you make of it. There's endless ways to apporach the races so they always kept me occupied. Why wouldn't you get into the multiplayer either?

After crimbo I'll get my Bernie Ecclestone of Forza thing going and start arranging events on a weekly basis.

I think a re-run of the BTCC championship I did needs to happen as that was really well received.

I can honestly say I have little problems winning most races, if I can't, it's because of the car/tune I'm using. You must be st hehe

Heads up, 1.5m credits up for grabs on the website smile
