Doesn't look that markedly more arcadey than the FM4 one did given it was only a brief glimpse and clearly designed to show off the graphics, rather than gameplay

The FM4 trailer had supercars crashing and a McLaren F1 spinning through the air, and that couldn't really be much further from the truth of the game that was eventually released.

After the epic fail of Horizon I would have thought the 1st thing they did would appeal to their FM fan base that they lost with Horizon, showing street racing and drifting doesn't do that, a race with a handful of cars on a 'new' track that people would instantly recognise ie Bathurst would get for more peoples juices flowing. I don't doubt it will be a great game and bu I hope it leans towards FM4 as a base rather than Horizon.

I agree, I hope it's more FM4 than horizon, but I found the idea of writing it off completely on 5 seconds of footage on a game that's not going to be out for at least 6months laughable.

Sadly I don't think 'we' the mature realism gamers really matter to Microsoft or Sony. They want kids screaming and holding their breath or moaning that everyone in their class has the latest new game and that they 'must' have it.

That's where they get all their money from. Would mind a hint of horizon's 'cruise about' but in purely a race mode. Not defining the game.

Did you watch the same video as me? It's hardly a drift fest? There is one artistic slide to show off the slow mo graphics. I LOVE that you can see the metallic in the paint!! Looks amazing.

Ok now watched that on a better screen, see why they did the slow-mo, that metaflake looks awesome and the tyre detail is pretty good too. Hey you know I'll be stood o/s tescos at 2359 on the eve of release anyway wink

Is that John Hindhaugh's voice from Radio Le Mans in the trailer?

Needs to improve the AI a huge amount from Forza 4. In Forza 4 the AI races on the racing line and if your car happens to be there, there'll be an accident. There's no concept of creating space. GT doesn't do it too well either.

To be honest though, I imagine a lot of gameplay will be online where the AI won't matter. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses (particularly to see what interests me more; this or GT6). Forza 5 will have to be brilliant though since it'd require a new console.

I'd be mildly shocked if Forza 5 doesn't also appear on the 360!
We all know how much turn10 love our money and there are a lot of people who won't go out and buy the XBOX 1 for the first year or so. I don't think they'll miss the opportunity to squeeze a few more quid out of the 360!

As this is the "official" thread I'll post here!

Personally I'd be mildly shocked if Forza 5 doesn't also appear on the 360.

We all know how much turn10 love our money and there are a lot of people who won't go out and buy the XBOX 1 for the first year or so. Sony feel there will still be enough people out there with current gen consoles for them to release GT6 in November.

I reckon turn10 will be the same.

No chance. The two couldn't possibly interact - the 360 is pretty much at the limit with FM4, trying to race lots of cars online through a city would make it collapse in a heap. It'll be a launch title for the One and that's that.

GT "6" is Sony's half hearted riposte to this, and is mostly GT5 underneath with a bit of chrome added.

One thing we've not heard yet is pricing. That will be interesting.

Quite looking forward to this. I do hope Horizon and FM will continue to coincide. I love them both, although I did think Horizon could have been better. I definitely want FM to push more long road courses than short track circuits. Removing the Rallye De Positano course in FM4 was a daft move!

Maybe I should've worded that different and said that they will also make an XBOX 360 VERSION.

It makes business sense to do it!

No, it makes business sense to force people to buy the new console.
