Am unsure if I like it but may grow on me. Seems very "samey" go kill this go patrol this etc

Seems like a very simple PC mporg from a few years ago with halo bolted on for the fighting.

Coop dynamic is pretty cool but not experienced much so far.

Had to laugh at some level 11 guy at tower after the game only been released for 30 mins. Possibly a different timezone player ?

Very quick one, does this game come with a amazing story mode for one player or is it really better as an online game. Just, i am not really a fan of the online gaming world, just want to play a game. Cheers

It's only an online game. There are story missions. These missions exist in an online persistent world.

As much as I'm enjoying this game so far, I do wish they would stop doing this! I prefer just to play a campaign alone! During a mission last night there were about 3-4 other online players running about killing everyone before I got to that point! I could see them in the distance, then arrived to find a load of dead enemies. Annoying!

Each of the story-specific areas will only be accessible to you and your fireteam, so you won't have strangers jumping in on the story-specific bits or the strikes. You'll recognise these areas as a prompt comes up on screen saying that respawning is restricted.

If the bad guys were in the distance - you were gatecrashing the other players' party, rather than them killing your enemies!

Your mission specific enemies will spawn in places near you, or near your checkpoint when you arrive there, not in the distance.

I heard on BBC it was "the most expensive game ever made". I was expecting more hoohaa about it?

If its basically a new halo with co-op online to play through the story then im all over it. Loved that game on the 360.

I say this as somebody that thought Borderlands was okay but I generally got annoyed with the number of "extras" such as pickups and chests to find etc. This was because my gaming time can be limited and so all of this led to endless customisation and different screens to navigate. I felt like I never had long enough to get my head around everything before I had to stop playing. I just felt a bit lost with it. Because of that, the only game I've bought and play on the PS4 is Battlefield 4. It is easy enough to pick up and just get stuck in. Also have huge love for Halo.

Having said that, I am loving this. It can be Halo if you want it to be but there is role playing/upgrading as well. Thankfully, it isn't overbearing, it is easy to get to grips with and it is simply awesome to spawn into an area and see a full blown fire-fight in full swing. I'm only level 4 at the minute and can't wait to move up the ranks!

You can tell it is Bungie that's for sure. The combat is fast and very fluid with enemy's that are reasonable smart, for example they will dive for cover if you hit them with something powerful that knocks off a shield. Weapons are quite well balanced in the early levels and the accidental moments where you cross paths with another fire team are actually quite superb.

Playing list night with another PHer we dropped down to Russia to do the patrol bounty (Complete 6 patrol missions). During this we happened across a low level loan player pinned down by quite a few heavies.... few long range distracting sniper shots from us later and he turned the tables on his attackers. A bit later he happend to join us in a fire fight before going on his way. Totally seamless and didn't 'disrupt' our missions in the slightest.

And when we had to defeat a few knights the other fire team who were in the area were quite welcome tbh.

Love this game.

Oh I see! Ok that explains it. It's getting pretty hard now to clear out these "respawning restricted" areas on my own. Is it designed to be done with 3 people or something? Am I attempting levels where I should be playing co-op? It seems stupidly hard at some points! Again, I think that's silly if it's designed so you can't do it on your own?
