You can tell it is Bungie that's for sure. The combat is fast and very fluid with enemy's that are reasonable smart, for example they will dive for cover if you hit them with something powerful that knocks off a shield. Weapons are quite well balanced in the early levels and the accidental moments where you cross paths with another fire team are actually quite superb.
Playing list night with another PHer we dropped down to Russia to do the patrol bounty (Complete 6 patrol missions). During this we happened across a low level loan player pinned down by quite a few heavies.... few long range distracting sniper shots from us later and he turned the tables on his attackers. A bit later he happend to join us in a fire fight before going on his way. Totally seamless and didn't 'disrupt' our missions in the slightest.
And when we had to defeat a few knights the other fire team who were in the area were quite welcome tbh.
Love this game.
It seems highly unlikely that it was me but that exact same thing happened to me on that level I think and it was great to join in with the fight and then move on to my own objective when I realised I was massively out gunned. My player name is dernian and was playing a level 3 or 4 hunter. As you say, it's extraordinary how it all fits together.Playing list night with another PHer we dropped down to Russia to do the patrol bounty (Complete 6 patrol missions). Thanks for the invite from whomever last night. Sorry it took me a while to work out as I missed the initial invite and couldn't work out how to join. Once the second invite turned up I flew to the new planet and shortly after getting there the fire-team dropped?
One thing I didn't like was getting a "preview" of the other planets / story missions so I may have to hack through a few of those before accepting another fire-team mission - it is great fun though

My old PS3 packed up a couple of weeks ago so I orderd the Destiny bundle after hearing all the hype about it. I only just made as far as the Tower, but from reading comments here it looks likeit goes all multiplayer co-op after this point. I loved being able to summon people to help in Dark Souls (because I'm st ) does it work like that or am I just automatically teamed up with other palyers when neccessary?
What are "grimoire cards"? I keep picking them up but I have no idea what they are...
Also, why don't games have instruction manuals these days?!?

I would say try it before you are oooooott
As a single player game its hard and repetitive, as a multi player game its bloody amazing!
I have done all the earth missions 4 times now as my friends etc needed to level up some I have tagged along with them, and its still dangerous for me (level 12) even at the easier locations.
The 3 per fireteam bit is a bit crap but it will work itself out I think. Hope they do manage to add more players per fireteam !

Played a few hours of this today. The shooty shooty itself is pretty good, a total copy of Halo, but that isn't a bad thing. Did a PvP match and didn't come bottom of the table, which was nice considering everyone else was max rank or near that, and most likely decked out in a few legendaries. It was pretty fun to play, but nothing groundbreaking.
The rest though is just anodine nothingness. The MMO aspect is MMO-lite, the RPG aspect is RPG-lite, the loot aspect is loot-lite, the open world aspect is... you get the idea.
It's well made, but like other people have said, you've seen it all before.
I'll keep playing for the shooty, as that is good enough to drive you to push past the rest, but this isn't going to be a game that lasts the test of time I expect, unless they do some serious content generation and change it a fair bit.
One final thought, the load times are utter bullst. It feels like you spend just as much time watching you (admittedly very pretty) spaceship flying to the next location, as you do on the ground shooting. Luckily they have made it so that you can dick around with your loot and character while the locations are loading, but I assume they did that because they realised the load times were atrocious.

I loved it at first. I still like it, however, having now reached Venus I can see what people are complaining about.
On earth you fought the red Gregs, on the moon it was the green Gregs, and on Venus Greg is blue!
You're just fighting the same enemies (at least the Vex mixed things up a bit) with the same fking weapons over and over.
You get a new weapon or piece of armour and think "awesome" but it all performs exactly like the previous lot.

i had the beta and actually really enjoyed it for the few days.
now i have the full game and im having to do the exact same missions over again tbh its a bit st especially as im not a very social gamer so im doing this on my own. and it just seems from what i read its going to get even more samey

Suspect it's not by accident. Hype it to oblivion, make it look pretty and feel nice and enjoy that wave of preorder cash. Oh you want some more stuff to do? Here, have a DLC pack. Rinse and repeat.I didn't bother, the beta was enough to convince me it was an average at best game that looked pretty. Our lad picked it up this weekend and it totally confirmed my gut feeling was right (IMO). I never cared for halo but he remains a huge fan of it, so it's a bit surprising he's not all that enthused either.
Just buck the trend a little... I really like it. It's pretty challenging and good fun to play. Most console games seem to have a repetitive element to them and it's more engaging than many I've played. I get to shoot stuff that tries to hide and generally shoots back pretty well, the controls are intuitive and I don't have to troll round maps talking to endless people in the correct order in order to acquire information which inevitably leads to a fight and the acquisition of another artifact... here I can skip to the fight
It doesn't have that edge when fighting against real people in games like titan fall, BF or COD but it's still good fun.
As for a lack of depth... yeah ok but have you all played titan fall recently?

How long does it take to get to level 20. I'm completely bored of missions already not even level 10, none of my mates have it and I wouldn't mind if I could just jump into some multiplayer for a bash against others in a team deathmatch but I can't.
I did PvP at level 4, not sure why you can't just jump in and give it a go?trooperiziz said:
