How long does it take to get to level 20. I'm completely bored of missions already not even level 10, none of my mates have it and I wouldn't mind if I could just jump into some multiplayer for a bash against others in a team deathmatch but I can't.
I did PvP at level 4, not sure why you can't just jump in and give it a go?
Really? I can't seem to find it and everywhere I've seen says level 20 unlocks it.
If you have picked up the key from the crucible dude, then go into orbit and crucible is an area on the map you can choose. It's to the right of the tower.
Thanks! I'll have a look tonight.

For you fashion-conscious guardians out there, try out the different shaders on your model before purchasing them here:

Just watched this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZtI6zMbE7I

This whole quad release thing is really undermining the next gen consoles. The game is exactly the same on all 4 just with less detailed shadows on the older tek..its still the same game..same levels..same features..nothing is different in the actual game.

With the next gen consoles being an evolution, and this being the most expensive game to develop (apparently?) it makes perfect sense to release on an existing user base (ie last gen). I don't think the gameplay suffers at all. In fact, as a bored elderly gamer, sick to the back teeth of endless unimaginative FPS cash-ins, I'm really quite enjoying Destiny!

Mind, does anyone else think it's just a Rage clone (but good?)

Good god the stty game dynamics.

Playing the mission where you have to defend ghost from waves of darkness troops while he gets the Array set up.

Constant waves of 6 fast hard hitting bullet sponges every minute with shorty troops hanging about kicking the crap out if you with bullets that follow you! All in an area where you go back to the start if you die at any point.

Tried 5 times before I fave up. They really fked it up in the balancing where the level is designed for 3 players but in your own it's a massive ball ache/nigh impossible as you get swamped trying to reload, and 3 good hits and your dead but hit them five or more times and they keep coming...unless you headshot them, which is so easy with a gamepad and rough targeting controls.

I love the game world and I like a shooter but for the last 3 missions to have been on the same map basically spraying bullets and hoping us a bit stale.

It's lazy game design to mean you play longer, but that's only because you have to repeat stuff over and over. I'm in the PH clan but not. Any in, or those that are are level 15. I'm only level 4/5 and the game is too focused on panic rush mobs to make it interesting.
bit pissed with it tbh.

If its the one i'm thinking about and its in the story its meant to be run solo. My advice would be take a time-out from the story and go grind a couple of levels on patrols or replays on missions to make the mission a bit easier.

It's for 1-3 players it says but I think I have missed the patrol type stuff and my gear is a bit basic as I saw a guy do the same mission sand it looked easier. I also found I was on the last wave or do anyway so I was doing okay.

The higher the level you are, the more damage your weapons do and your armour can soak up, even if you don't upgrade your weapons and armour.

If you upgrade your weapons and armour as you level up (as you should), the effect is magnified, so that completing a level 6 mission can seem impossible when you're at level 5, but a piece of p!ss when you're at level 7.

In fact, that's how I did some of the trickier bounties (e.g. get 20 multi kills with fusion gun), I did a really low level patrol, waited for low level enemy to spawn at one of their regular points and then danced around them, lining them up for a multikill. smile

I'm level 14 and it's getting hard Solo now, but I'm still clearing out the respawn restricted areas on my own. It's not easy when they keep coming in waves, but you really do have to utilise everything available to you at the right times.

Headshots are essential, well timed grenades, supercharged handgun on the "bosses", Heavy weapon (rocket launcher), and using the double jump effectively to get out of trouble when shields are low. It really does require the use of all of these things!

...or go back and do some patrols, bounties or other stuff to level up one level, then come back and do it when it's easier. wink

Kinda... That reviewer seems to be amazed and astounded by levelling mechanics that are in every other mmo though, it's as if this is his first time, so no wonder he loves it, as would anyone else who hasn't experienced what an mmo can offer in terms of progression.

When you have seen it all dozens of times before though, it's easier to be more legitimately critical.

It's true, the harder the difficulty setting and the better your gear, the better the game is. It's definitely a better play at level 20+ than it is at level 10. You don't start getting anything interesting gear-wise until about level 14 and up.

The Raid did look genuinely interesting though and is only the first one they've unlocked.

They are on a weekly lockout. So your progress will be saved to whatever checkpoint you get to all week, so you can't go back, only progress. Then it resets after a week you start from the beginning again.

Yea that's right, I think the current best gear available will be a reward (not sure if its random drop) in there so you will probably have to run it various times to get it all.

Each expansion will have a new raid which is basically the end game boss's for the game up to that point.

I think you get one new piece of armour after each run, and you need all 4 pieces to get to level 30 which then unlocks hard mode.

The first ones through the run took 12 hours....so who knows what hard mode is like!
