15 years since Gran Turismo came out . . . cannot believe its been that long I remember the buzz I had when I got my copy with a shiny new dual shock at launch
GT6 could be incredible if Polyphony have learned some hard lessons from GT5.
hopefully they have learned their lesson this timeGT6 could be incredible if Polyphony have learned some hard lessons from GT5.

Could not wait for GT5 to come out but time and time again it got pushed back, and the game itself was a real disappointment! Realistically there wasn't that many cars, with most of the numbers made up of special editions of the same car, there were two suzuki swift sports where the only difference was the model year, WTF!
I really hope GT6 is an improvement and comes with a huge list of premium cars, otherwise I think I might have to skip it when it first comes out and wait for it to hit bargain basement levels, something I'd never thought I'd do with the Gran Turismo series.
I shall reserve judgement till more details emerge

Lets hope they focus less on including cars your granny drives and more on full hd modelling and physics why they never followed the forza formula of a few hundred cars then release car packs I'll never know?
One of the best bits of the GT series is that it features 'everyday' cars. It's one of the few things that set it apart from other racing games. If you just want modern super and sports cars with a smattering of classics, then play Need for Speed.Personally I'll feel cheated if they cut out any cars. Though I suppose they could trim down the selection of MX5s/Skylines etc to more reasonable numbers. No need for special editions that only differ in colour when you can paint the car yourself.

Same here. I've actually uninstalled GT5 from my PS3 as I just wasn't playing it. Couldn't even tell you why I didn't particularly like it, I just didn't find it fun & I've always loved the GT games. I'll probably get it but maybe once it drops in price.I really hope GT6 is an improvement and comes with a huge list of premium cars, otherwise I think I might have to skip it when it first comes out and wait for it to hit bargain basement levels, something I'd never thought I'd do with the Gran Turismo series.

I think they need to do a scratch & sniff disk again

I hope it ditches the premium/standard concept completely, what a stupid idea that was. Almost as stupid as B-Spec and the levelling system.I also hope they actually finally produce some good sound effects, and AI.
But after the humongous disappointment that GT5 was (I pre-ordered the game a good 12 months before it was released), and then only playing it for maybe a couple of hours before binning it off, I certainly won't be buying it before, or on release day.
PD have to an awful lot to do to make GT6 a good game...

Especially as Forza seem to be going from strength to strength.
I would like to see:
- B-Class binned
- Pointless loading screens removed, haven't played it for ages but always remember going through 3 screens when 1 would do, when you have to get your awarded car stands out in my mind - Just put it in my garage already...
- More car customisation - more spoilers, fine detail tweeks e.g. caliper paint, roll cage paint, different exhaust finishes (single, double, central etc)
- Downloadable race liveries for certain cars (I don't expect GT to go down the full blown FM paint road)
- Modern cars added to the game as they come out with a reasonable individual price e.g. £0.69/car.

Is it going to be out for the PS3 then or is the PS4 due any time soon........I don't follow these things you see.
GT5 was a massive disappointment for me, standard cars were garbage and there wasn't enough premium cars.
[crystal ball]Probably announcing it as a PS4 launch title for whenever the PS4 is released late this year/early next year[/crystal ball]GT5 was a massive disappointment for me, standard cars were garbage and there wasn't enough premium cars.
Hopefully it won't have the recycled PS2 car models in it this time...

That will be taking it too far. Upscaled models from an eight year old game is unacceptable. The 'standard' cars were such an insult. No update in sound either which aged them even more! They were good fun to have as bumper cars though.
Oh, and bring back NOS! Man that was fun.

B Spec was great in GT4, helped with the longer races immensley. But watching the pathetic AI complete an entire race? No thanks, I think I managed half a race with B-Spec before giving up. Just awful.
I can't help thinking GT6 will be VERY similar to GT5 but with better looking tracks and more premium cars. PD and Kasanori are too stuck in their (odd Japanese) ways with their fingers stuck in their ears to change it much.
You just have to look at his comment that "GT5 sounds are possibly even too realistic" for proof. This is just crazy talk. GT5 cars sound good at very limited times. About the only time I enjoy their sounds is in replays at the moment the car goes past a fixed camera. At that point, you can hear the V8 really rumble but its not enough. How he can listen to Forza and leave the sound as it is, I don’t know.
I think the clunky menus, limited customisation, crap damage, B-Spec and bad AI will remain.
I will still buy it though and there is our problem.
