Ugh reminds me the stupid paint chips need binning off, what a ridiculous idea that was too.

B Spec was great in GT4, helped with the longer races immensley. But watching the pathetic AI complete an entire race? No thanks, I think I managed half a race with B-Spec before giving up. Just awful.
I like the idea of "earning" paints, I would rather that if you acquired a certain paint code, you got to keep it and use it infinite times smile

exactly my view also would be nice to see what it looks like on the car before spending the credits on it.

I loved gt5, played neouhg to buy the cars I wanted and then sat on free run in multiplayer thereafter.

I went back to check out the hacked cars, it was like engine swaps in forza, really opened the game up. Hopefully they'll put something in to cope with forzas fantastic tuneability of the cars.

I can't help thinking GT6 will be VERY similar to GT5 but with better looking tracks and more premium cars. PD and Kasanori are too stuck in their (odd Japanese) ways with their fingers stuck in their ears to change it much.

You just have to look at his comment that "GT5 sounds are possibly even too realistic" for proof. This is just crazy talk. GT5 cars sound good at very limited times. About the only time I enjoy their sounds is in replays at the moment the car goes past a fixed camera. At that point, you can hear the V8 really rumble but its not enough. How he can listen to Forza and leave the sound as it is, I don’t know.

I think the clunky menus, limited customisation, crap damage, B-Spec and bad AI will remain.
Unfortunately I think you're right.

I will still buy it though and there is our problem.
I won't if you are correct. Why would you buy it though? Just to race the same cars on the same tracks with a few fancy extras? You'd really pay 30-50 quid for that?

I guess it depends on who is running it on PH. If all the championships move onto GT6, then yes it will be a purchase for sure, even if it's pretty much the same.

yes
I don't mind spending the credits to see what it looks like, its losing the chip that really annoys me, I remember buying cars just for the paint. It would be easy to work around, you simply acquire the paint code which you use at the paint shop rather than a one off paint chip.

I agree, although there are people who are looking else where. I bought a second hand Xbox (£60) and the only games I have are FM3, FM4 & Forza Horizon, says it all really. On doing so I have turned from a huge GT fan boy to a pretty big FM fan boy. In certain cars on certain tracks GT5 was wonderful, however, on a whole FM was far, far more enjoyable. I tried playing GT5 the other day and it bored and frustrated me within an hour frown

PS1 - GT<GT2
PS2 - GT3<GT4
PS3 - GT5<GT6

I still enjoy GT5, you need a wheel to get the most out of it. A lot of people seem to think the only way to play it is with racing tyres, ABS and SRF on. Try out the Caterham on Comfort tyres, turn the ABS off and the physics model feels pretty good. It makes FM feel pretty easy when your trying to push harder to win some of the expert races.

GT3 is still my favourite game of the series.

Better engine noises is the only thing I can think of that would've improved that.

If they put the old Gran Turismo games on PSN I'd be all over them. There have been quite a few HD reissues of games like Beyond Good and Evil, Ico, God Of War and Hitman, lets have a Gran Turismo HD collection please Sony. GT4 had a 1080i HD mode anyway, on the PS2! smile

It needs fewer cars with a more focused cross section of models. The premium/standard cars thing was piss weak but even worse in my opinion were the tracks. Nordschleife and Le Mans are damn right magical but Monaco was a horrible copy'n'paste job from the PS2 plus so many of the classic GT tracks were absent.

I also wish GT6 was being aimed at PS4 to really open the taps on what could be achieved- it would shift alot of consoles too but the PS3 does have an established userbase so it makes sense business wise I suppose.

I wont be losing any sleep waiting for this one, I enjoyed GT5, but it was more frustrating than enjoyable.

I can't understand why a game should take a 12-24 hour download patch to work, and even then be stupidly awkward to navigate and bloody slow, I thought the frustration of waiting for a screen to change or it to work out the starting grid was left behind in the PS1 age.

It's meant to be hyper realistic, to the point where you can turn on the headlights and the little light comes on the dash, all very clever, but that level of realism is sort of wasted when you can drive into a solid object at 200mph and carry on moments later like nothing happened.

Maybe racing games aren't my thing, but it didn't take long for it to get boring, races became a chore to ether unlock the next level or earn cash for the next car you needed.

I know they could fix all these things, especially as a PS4 title, but I'm willing to bet they won't, it'll be advancement by numbers, twice as many cars (maybe as many as a 1000 versions of Nissan GTR's and Honda S2000's this time!) and a few more tracks wrapped around nicer visuals.

hmmmm you could be right there old chap just read the comments and they reckon its fake..oh well i still think the GT series has gone sour so perhaps the real 'drive club' as seen on the ps4 trailer still looks more promising than the next GT realease i reckon ;-)

I could spend hours with a decent wheel on GT4 on certain tracks driving a Monaro without traction control.

Maybe.. GTA seems to be exclusive to Nissan. There is a lot of other cars in the 15th May preview video, looks like a Saleen at one point. Plus the blinking GT_ after GT5.

I hope gt6 will be on the ps4 as a launch title as that way it will be better looking, and sounding if it takes advantage of the new processing power.
Surely if it comes out on the ps3 it won't look any different as its pushing the ps3 to the max already, not in sound but very much so graphics wise.

The problem with Grand Turismo is it's an annoying game. I find it most enjoyable when I've got a car i've had from the early progress, like a fwd civic, integra etc and have modded and tuned it to it's potential 200-250bhp (usually N/A), and love spending hours on circuits just time trailing and honing it. Then you get the cars that you tune for 400-500bhp and they feel too fast to really hone their handling to perfection, and get enjoyment out of them. Then you get to the high up, high end racing cars and the longer lapping races and championships which start feeling almost like their just hurdles to get over. I find my interest waning alot the more % of the game you get completed.

Forza 4 seemed to have the nail well and truly hit on the head regarding game progression, you'd have a R3/R2 race then inbetween the next championship race, you could have an F race, or S race, etc of your choosing. I found that my interest never faded and allowed me to go back to those cars I spent so long honing.
