My steering wheel plug wasn't in at the mains!
I didn't realise it did everything else via USB, just the steering from mains power!
schoolboy error.I didn't realise it did everything else via USB, just the steering from mains power!
Is it just me that is still confused by the camber and toe settings , it seems strange that cars can drive so well with toe and camber at 0 yet a bit of negative camber front an rear makes them feel rubbish but if you put camber on max negative front an rear you get strange amounts of grip in corners an zero braking in the straight.
Also why are cars defaulting to toe or 60 on the rear and 0 on the front?
I thought it looked more like the single file parade of cars at the start of a GT race

So I've eventually caught up with the crowd having gone on GT5 the other night a realising their was no online game play.
So I've been out and bought GT6 last night
Put the disk and waited and waited and waited and ermmmm waited
Granted I've got a slow internet connection and living in shared house so only wifi connection.
at about 11 last night it stops going through 1/12 2/12 3/12 ......... etc
and i get to the final part of the installation which looks like its actually in the game and I'm faced with the message 'Please wait Installing please do not switch of system blah blah blah balah Approx 70 minutes left'
Then nothing did it over and night and while at work today 24hrs and i still havent played.
whats going on where i am i going wrong
PS real technophobe when it comes to the working off this so keep it simple please
any help greatly appreciated

Take it to a mates house with super fast broadband next time.
Or if it's not that maybe your PS3 needs a system restore - get rid of old games etc.
If done what someones post above and deleted GT6 and started again. Or if it's not that maybe your PS3 needs a system restore - get rid of old games etc.
if i cant sort going to take it back what a waste of money
I've been through and deleted a lot of my old games but dont really want to do a system restore unless there is away of saving all of the old data

Hope I'm not too late to help, but I've had similar problems with installing updates. Just got a PS3 and GT6, haven't played for maybe ten years. Anyway, I found somewhere that you need to do the updates a few at a time. The first 6 of 12 you can do in one go, then disable network and let them install. Then one or two at a time from there and let them install when disconnected from the network. This worked for me, but took me a few days of having enough time to sit there and watch it download. Good luck.

I've just downloaded the 12 updates in their entirety for the 3rd time. This time stopping after each download and letting it install. I thought that was it but I'm on another update screen now, not sure what the install procedure after each individual download was for. Currently showing 320 minutes left though it's guaranteed to fail. I feel like putting a sledge hammer through it. Do I need to turn download a couple of updates then restart with WiFi off to make sure that the update are fully installed?

I did have an issue where the latest update corrupted itself (think the PS3 powered off during the update). To fix it, I deleted the existing GT6 Game Data (NOT the Save Data), hit update the second the update screen appeared (this is key apparently), then left it to install the updates over night. Went into the living room in the morning and had a working copy of GT6 to play with.
the main issue apart from the updates with GT6 was that it was too easy for a large majority of it.
getting the gold licence awards was a little tricky but by no means a thankless slogfest...
i still need 1800 miles to get the platinum trophy which is proven the thankless task of the game...
I think it would benfit from a proper but optional career type mode...but there are enough of those types of games out there I think...
