Just out of curiosity, what improvements have been made to the game (particularly in the sound department) over the last 6 months or so? I bought GT6 at launch and got so royally fed up with it due to its shortcomings I got rid of it. It amazes me how over a year after launch the game still appears to be unfinished.
Most of the cars still don't have interiors which I find shocking and unacceptable.ecsrobin said:
However sound has slightly improved and you can now move the microphone on the car to get a better sound so if I drive in interior view but I want the sound from outside view you now can.
I'm a bit lost with the sound changes - when I set it to 'viewpoint dependent' and switch to the interior view, everything sounds like I'm driving along with a window open, it's rubbish. I leave it on 'normal' now. I will admit some cars do sound rather good (787B on idle, for example), but others do not - the V12s of the McLaren F1 and '88 Countach sound almost identical, and neither seem much like the real thing.zebedee said:
What is it with ps3 memory? I am trying to update and it says it needs 2800mb more space. I have deleted about 8000mb of games and save data and backup save data, and it still says I need 2800 mb more. What the hell?
Fit a new hard drive with more space ? Did mine years ago from 40gb to 640gb.zebedee said:

Is it easy enough to do? Can you just use any type of hard drive, from an old laptop or something?zebedee said:
re: the long strung out starts in every single race - this means GT6 is no longer a racing game in my opinion. You need a car quicker than the others to catch them, so because it is quicker, they can't repass you and there is no battling. I've said it before, but nothing touches TOCA on the original PS from what I have played for intense racing and GT6 should have at least some races a bit like that. I used to love having an inferior car in earlier GTs, which you could see because under each car it gave power and weight on the entry, qualifying its socks off to get on the front row of the grid and then trying to hold on the race. This follow the dog is a massive turn off to me, not been on it for nearly a year. Also the fact that they dropped the 24 hour races in gt6 meant it felt a bit hollow in terms of what I was working towards, career mode is far too easy to get cash and decent cars
I agree with this. The best races in GT5 were the championships where you could get yourself very evenly matched. The VX220 / Opel Speedster challenge, which was tough even with a fully modified car (I remember having to use racing softs to be fast enough and they'd wear out before race end if you didn't look after them) and the Renault Alpine races in a standard car. Even harder in a standard A310.Neither would have been possible for me without quslifying, and would not have been half as much fun. Then there were theendurance races, no qualifying but it didn't really matter because of the length of the race. Two hours around El Capitan trying to beat the Motorsport Elise in a Lotus Elan... then taking the same car to Laguna Seca and New York enduros... Good memories. None of those challenges are available in GT6.

Absolutely, some of the toughest challenges are those in identical lower powered cars. I do find that the best races I've had are online with people using for example Clios or other relatively low powered cars with no driver aids which require far more effort to maintain momentum compared with those who race the fastest most powerful cars and have all the driver aids turned up to the max.

I thought it looked more like the single file parade of cars at the start of a GT race

Been back on over the hols after a lengthy break, really enjoying it again. That Forza 2 ad is quite amusing though.
