Might see if I can get the PS3 off the BIL for a bit and give GT5 one last chance.
I wouldn't bother, You'll have about 3Gb of downloads (mostly for DLC), and some minor tweaking of the game. But as the saying goes, you can't polish a turd... The minor tweaking doesn't/didn't address the games major flaws.

i was in the same boat myself where i hadnt played gt5 in a while but gave it one last chance by racing in the PH champs and i must say its been the most fun ive ever had in GT5 so imo its definitely worth a shot
It is mighty enjoyable at times. If the PS3 online experience wasnt so clunky i'd be all over it to be honest.Have to agree with what most have said, after being a huge fan of the GT series, was massively disappointed with GT5. The game certainly had flashes of brilliance and when it works and you are online racing with a decent bunch it's unmatched. It's just a pity that it's buried under a mountain of errors like a woeful user interface, looooonngg loading screens, re-regurgitated cars\graphics, an online experience that is terrible 80% of the time and a single player game which took a formula that used to be fun and turned it into the biggest grind fest of all time.
There is a decent game lurking in their and I doubt they will re-do it from scratch as they've invested too much time in it and Polyphony seem too set in their ways now but I'd like to see.
- Release it as a launch title on the PS4 with absolutely no delays (one of the biggest problems for GT5, it was already out of date by the time it was released)
- Utilise the power of the PS4 to fix the issues from GT5. I don't mind them recycling the premium cars but get rid of all the sub standard dross.
- Get someone in who actually has experience in designing a proper user interface and online experience.
- Make it easier to race with friends, the current lobby system is sh*t.
Do that and I'm there on launch day with my £60 (which is what I predict it will cost).

Somebody on GTPlanet has been messing about with the Gran Turismo website's URL and it appears GT have already set up a GT6 section;
http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/news/?t=gt6
Nothing on there yet.

Sony are holding an invite-only event at Silverstone tomorrow, where both GT Academy and Gran Turismo 6 will be revealed.
Most believe the game will be for the PS3 rather than PS4.
We’ll find out tomorrow.
Well there has been two GT games per PS model so far, the second one usually coming towards the end of the consoles life cycle. Doesn't mean anything obviously, I think it will be PS3 though. Based on GT5 but more like GT4. Sony are holding an invite-only event at Silverstone tomorrow, where both GT Academy and Gran Turismo 6 will be revealed.

My B-Spec chaps are just in the middle of their Nurburgring 24 hour, 12 hours down and 2 laps ahead. The sun is just starting to come up but you can still make out the glowing brake disks, headlights and fair ground action. GT5 does looking pretty awesome at times, the lighting with the day/night cycle for the Ring and Le Mans are some of the best around on console and PC.
They have worked with Loeb and Red Bull before, maybe we will get the latest Pikes Keak and Loebs new motor

If Polyphony can finally sort the sound out (even GT5 engine sounds are terrible), I'd consider it. Also, ditch the 'used car dealers', and just put everything in a central showroom. It was so annoying trying to find a 'used only' car and sometimes having to wait weeks for one to finally show up...
On personal preference, a soundtrack like GT1 would be appreciated as well
I actually bought the Signature Edition because I was so excited for GT5 (the crazy £130 edition with the art books, model SLS, Apex driving book and so on), but I've barely played the game in comparison to Forza 4 because I just find it kind of...boring. Odd as I love cars, and love JDM in particular but GT5 just bored me to death sometimes.
Here's hoping GT6 is what we've all been waiting for.

judging by the trailers that are already out the graphics/car sounds seem pretty epic so i just hope tommorow its better than what ive already seen also seems it will be a ps3 game but they tweak it for a ps4 release aswell just like BF4On personal preference, a soundtrack like GT1 would be appreciated as well

I'd agree with all the sentiments here, if they can all the social, non racing crap, and remove B Spec, then use all the focus that would've been on them on doing some stunning modelling, I'll love it. As long as there aren't any recycled PS2 cars, and 75 versions of the R34 Skyline. I would actually prefer a smaller number of cars overall if it meant that what we did get was of much higher standard.
