Tyre / fuel wear?

I would suggest setting the gearing to max speed = 124, gives just enough head room for drafting.

Currently trying LSD settings, to put it politely, the handling is... challenging. Which probably replicates the real-life issues with the swing arm:

Can I propose 50/50/25 for the LSD? It still bites if you're reckless, but it does make things actually quite fun before that point. Works for both tyres. Of course, if you prefer just run the default settings, but don't say I didn't warn you...

Interesting last night i had NO pace whatsoever in race 1.

Race 2 was going well although Ian was catching me and then wrecked in the last chicane for the 2nd time. After that shoulder was in bits so parked it.

Final week
Combo is

Mazda mx5 nb 04 rs at ring gp.

Ill confirm spec later but it's probably going to be stock just need to work on rubber.

If you need one let us know ASAP - I have one or two spare and maybe drc does too.

So as a farwell to GT5 I think we"ll run a 2 make champ world tour.

This would be a quali 10 mins in car 1 (mx5 tc) then the normal race 1 in the mx5

Race 2 same as 1 but in a classic mini.

There seems to be 12 real locations - but may drop Le Mans as not sure it'll be fun in either car.

The only thing I think we could change is race 1&2 could alternate betwee
Each car so wk1 quali & rave 1 in mx5 and wk2 quali in mini etc.

We'll have an overall champ plus a mini/mx5 champ.

Tyres fixed for each car (tbd) the same for wear rates.

We can through some weather/night at the tracks too.

Everyone happy???

yes - sounds great to me! I agree with ditching Spa - also what about Daytona/Indy? The road courses will be passable, the ovals would be mad but totally dull if you got punted.

Race 1 I suffered from a total lack of pace too - but employed my secret squirrel strategy to good effect, I think I would have been much further behind otherwise. After a silly collision I did have to pit early, but from lap 3 onwards I ran mediums on the front, softs on the rear - yes, I split the tyres again, only the reverse of the Honda. This meant I could run 1.52 lap after lap, with a decline towards 1.54/1.55 in the closing laps as the grip faded. A few mistakes prevented me from being on the tail of Ian after the pitstops shook out. Flip's pace was insane, well done.

Race 2 - well my race 1 strategy was my undoing, having got used to the understeer, I now had a lively car to contend with - and failed to do so. Just after passing dice I had a huge moment, stood on the brakes to avoid the barrier and ended up stopped sideways across the track, dice did very well to not T-bone me. Sorry! That allowed Norbs and Flip to catch me, they'd been slowly reeling me in after their early mishap due to my poor pace. Did enjoy watching them battle after I let them past, I held on for 2 laps but then I lost the slipstream and just fell away. 4 laps from the end I had a really big shunt on my own, crawled to pits and cruised home a distant 4th, only by default really. Great racing from everyone. I must learn how to tame an oversteery car...

I like the sound of next week but I suspect I won't be able to make it sadly.

Cracking racing last night, the battles with Norbs were some of the best I've had in the championship.

MX5s and classic Minis... epic!

Only because you won! Although it was pretty epic. We seemed to be absolutely matched on pace for the whole 2nd race.

Next season sounds ace.

Dice, MX-5 pleeeeeeease?

Maybe I also suggest that we drop Fuji from the next champ as its ste, and will be even ste-er in the MX-5 and Mini.

Didn't we veto running the Fiat 500s at Fuji? I think it's best left out if possible.
