Surprise!
They just released the RUF.
Its bloody fab. Bit odd when you start bouncing over the kerbs but very easy to drive and sounds great. Might not be proper Porsche licence but they have done good with this one. There is three versions currently, with a fourth in the new year. Good value for $12!

Just renewed my membership for a month, thank God! The RT12R Track is the best car i've driven in the game yet, and that probably makes it the best car i've driven in any game ever. So forgiving and bloody quick, and the noise at 9000rpm...
Anyone doing the 2.4 of Daytona this weekend? Toying with running in the Saturday 8pm slot in a Ruf

I've not bought the RUF yet (have done a livery though!) so may have to start practicing for a possible GT3 championship jaunt. Either that or stay in the Skippy. I should move up to A licence on Monday, not that that makes much difference.
What I am finding slightly annoying though is that my irating is at a level that I tend to get dropped into the upper splits, which with my slightly compromised setup means my chances of winning are limited. I tend to rely on attrition at the moment.

Don't get me wrong, not winning doesn't wear me down, but it would be nice to be able to challenge occasionally. My own fault really, playing from the sofa and using the TV isn't best. Then again, it saves my left leg shaking all over the place when I get into a position to run at the front. Blooming annoying that.
As an aside, it's well worth watching Matt Orr's Youtube videos;

has improved my racing no end, mainly with slowing down to speed up, if that makes sense.

Been having some lessons with the AAA club as I'm really struggling in the Skippy.
Just got my first decent result. Summit raceway, P11 start to race win. Well chuffed.
Still not reached a .23 but it's coming.
I'm still yet to win in the Skippy so well done!Just got my first decent result. Summit raceway, P11 start to race win. Well chuffed.

I entered the Daytona 2.4hrs over the weekend. I hadn't done more than about 20 laps of practice in the Prototype so entered mainly to see where my pace was. (It was also 1am and figured a 3:30am finish would ruin me). I thought I'd do the first dozen laps, have too many incidents and be DQ'd. Started in pitlane just not to ruin any racers enjoyment.
Suprised then that after 11 laps I had moved from 42nd to 12th. I could justify running an hour, so stuck with it and then realised with 45 mins to go that I was laying in third place overall. Obviously I'd committed a bit of time to it, and with a sniff of a podium or even a victory I cracked on. A half spin cost me a place and then I took an early last pitstop dropping me to 7th but as the pit window played out I eventually ended up 3rd over the finish line.
Not a win, admittedly, but a shock given my lack of preparation. I was chuffed to bits with that result.
I had sore shoulders though!!!

Good work fella! Had planned on running the Saturday 8pm race in a Ruf but things got in the way, cracking result from you though! What setup are you using?
I've found that the slow speed stuff is where I make up the most time back to my previous bests (down to a low 23 race pace now, still 5 or 6 tenths off previous best). The car now seems to want a ore gentle throttle input in the slow corners and drives better out. Thoughts are the diff changes are causing greater effect than the tyre changes.

Not much different to default. ARB is 7 and tyres are 23 if I recall. Brake bias is 56%
I think I know where I am losing time.
1) The hairpin, I brake around the 3 marker and then turn in, I need to get the power on earlier.
2) The Long left hander after the hairpin, keep trying this in different ways I was braking too early and I can't seem to do it flat.
3) The right hander I used to take flat in the MX5 I have to lift slightly or mess up the next left.
4) The right onto the pit lane straight I should be able to take this flat.
5) The final RH, I can't get the brake point right.
