Not much different to default. ARB is 7 and tyres are 23 if I recall. Brake bias is 56%
I think I know where I am losing time.
1) The hairpin, I brake around the 3 marker and then turn in, I need to get the power on earlier.
2) The Long left hander after the hairpin, keep trying this in different ways I was braking too early and I can't seem to do it flat.
3) The right hander I used to take flat in the MX5 I have to lift slightly or mess up the next left.
4) The right onto the pit lane straight I should be able to take this flat.
5) The final RH, I can't get the brake point right.
Might be worth trying either raising the front 1psi or lowering the rear 1psi, I seem to get better turn with a higher front to rear balance.I think I know where I am losing time.

Left hander after the hairpinn, I'm right over to the right, light brake and knock down to third just after the first cone and then power through. The right hander afterwards is a brush of the brake to turn the rear and just avoid the right hand kerb to avoid unsettling the car into the braking zone. Bimble through the twisties getting the power down as gently as possible. The right onto the pit straight it an early turn in and then play with the throttle now to avoid washing out too far. The final corner is my nemesis, I'm not light brake, knock down to third and driver through, again quite early. If I try and brake and take it in fourth, I'm bouncing over the gravel on exit.
What division are you in?
7 this season and 5 last season. Had a horrible time in my first skippy season that took my irating down from 1500ish to under 1000. Slowly building it back up now.
I watched a few videos after my last post and can see where I am going wrong which is as I thought. I was thinking about changing the pressure from and rear to try it out. I want a sharper turn in but more rear grip I think.

Argh. How frustrating.
Pole and lead from the start. 13 laps in, need fuel - which is odd because I did full distance on the same load in my first race. I pit, back out into 6th. Battle up to 4th and 3rd place makes a mistake but there is back marker in between us. We both avoid 3rd and BM moves over to let me pass then cuts back on me. Car wrecked, end up 8th.
Managed a 1.23.9 though.

I know how you feel, this game can be very very good but soooo frustrating when you get taken out.
I've been having some great races in the ruf at road Atlanta, have a good pace but the sessions are so busy the first lap is a nightmare
Agreed. Trying to fit into the traffic without ruining other peoples runs is bloody tricky, I'm literally at a crawl looking at the F3 box trying to find a gap.I've been having some great races in the ruf at road Atlanta, have a good pace but the sessions are so busy the first lap is a nightmare
Are you also finding the field is super super tight? I'm down into the 1:19's (so about 1.5sec off the fastest pace) but finding myself placing about 25th!!!!! It seems if I can find just a couple of tenths more then you will jump about a dozen places up the leaderboard.
Its bloody great but also frustrating!

my best is a 19.7 but race pace is about 20.0, but as you say with the splits i'm being put in i'm normally 20th or backAre you also finding the field is super super tight? You may have a point.
Two Skippy races today, one good, one bad. The bad one, last lap I'm running into turn one, middle of the road being slightly defensive, but with room to the inside, that the overtaker decided to exploit. Not a problem until he moves over onto me before clearing me, and then blames me for not yielding the corner. Considering we weren't even at the cones and the reply shows my wheels nailed to the central white line the whole time, a bit cheeky I thought. The clincher in the post race chat though was, "You can't tell an A Class driver he's wrong" and "I'll let you off this time".
It just seems a very different series this season to last, much more variance in ability in the splits and indeed willingness to race clean and patient. It's probably just me though. The downtime is not helping matters for some, one suspects. Lots of iRating being lost and thus unfamiliar splits being the result.

The Porsches feel so heavy after driving the Skippy.
I'm going to stick with skippy I think. The problem is you can't follow someone too hard as you can't be sure what they are going to do, braking early or in the middle of a corner for example. So I tend to be over cautious and then get shunted off by someone taking less care or screw up my own lines and prang it.

I'm hopeless there! Only started to practice last night and have changed into the McLaren, but optimal is still a .08. I think I agree with some of the people on the iRacing forum, great track, poor online racing experience as there is so much carnage.
Speaking of the forums, there's some good setups posted in the car specific areas in the race threads.

I just couldn't get to grips with it at MP. No base set up I like and I just can't get a FOV I feel comfortable with.
Sticking in the Skippy. Silverstone is a bit of a bugger though, I seem to have two modes there slow and safe or fast and dangerous. The turn 2/3 complex is my nemesis. My best 2.5 seconds off the pace of the fast guys.

Thanks for that fella, got down to a 2:02.7 in practice with a setup from there, buggered if I can do it again though..Speaking of the forums, there's some good setups posted in the car specific areas in the race threads.

Bullet same boat as you in the Skip Barber fella, Maggots/Becketts bit is hard trying to get the thing stopped coming out of the right hander without locking a wheel or pirouetting off
No worries. You're way faster than me, I'm running mid 2.07 race pace. Starting from pitlane, I've had two essentially non finishes (my fault) and two top ten finishes. I know where I'm slow, but 2.07 is giving me 0x race incidents and good results.
In the spirit of the weekend (Bathurst 12H) though, and as it is a global rule that it is not an official endurance race unless AF Corse are entered with at least one car, plus there is always, in at least one session, a non AF Corse car running with an AF Corse door, I adjusted my livery with the aforementioned door and some race tape.;

(for some reason the screenshot had squashed the car. Have to try and get a better one tomorrow).
