Enjoying the Formula Vee at the moment. Fun little car.
After a slow start managed 2 wins in my last two races.

Will stick with it and start looking at the Skippy and 2.0 Renault.

Where do you get set ups from? I can't be bothered to learn, I prefer to just drive.
I'd probably skip 2.0 renault and move to F3. It has a reputation of being crashy, but mainly because its a very competitive series and the cars are delicate. If you want something a bit faster, then the 3.5 is great fun, although that is another quiet series.

The fixed setups that iracing introduced for the F3 this season are, for the most part, very good and competitive (apart from Oulton which was dog st). For context, I usually race top split F3 and whilst off pace from the aliens, I am on pace with everyone else and I use the fixed setup.

I found myself in a random MX5 Advanced series race with Lando one evening - given my account name on IR is Chuck Norris, it was good of him to greet me with a "Oh hi dad!" when I joined the lobby hehe

Needless to say in a 15 minute race i'm not sure I even managed to finish on the same lap..!

One of my best iRacing achievements was once outqualifying Lando in the 911 Cup at Donington.

So it looks like the 2021 and 2022 Mercedes Formula One cars are coming to iRacing!

No doubt that everyone will buy them then remember that F1 cars are too fast, difficult and complicated for an average guy and then go back to racing GT3s.

It's a great scoop for iRacing but F1 cars rarely work well on sims compared with the 'simcade games'.

They would stress me out, I have enough trouble keeping an F3 on the track. I thought I was doing ok in my practice sessions at Snetterton getting consistent low 1m 42s to find front of the grid is doing 37's I would imagine the F1's will be worse. I like the slower cars (vee, skippy) my brain can handle it and I'm never more than 0.5 off the pace in the top splits.

If you're within 0.5 of the pacesetters in the Skip Barber then the toes can usually keep you in touch.
