Studley & GT2CS - you guys have WAY too much time on your hands!! hehe

Funny how there has been a mass exodus in a matter of just a few days - the friends list that was 90% Division has now changed a few old titles. Lots of Destiny, a few Black Ops and a couple of Rainbow 6. I myself have been thrashing around the stages of Dirt Rally a fair bit driving

The fact that the highest end gear was so easy to acquire by cheesing (yes PH XKR, by 'cheesing', a non american, perfectly accepted part of the modern gaming vernacular tongue out), that many found themselves with very little to do in a very short space of time. A bit of inadvertent self sabotage if you will.

Personally, I didn't give up on the Division completely...I really wanted that AUG!! So, a couple of days grinding for my 813 PxCs and, it is now mine!! It really is a beast!! It isn't so much the damage but, compared to the MP5, it is so much easier to get shots on target!! shoot

I wasn't aware of the broken protection from elites perk (can't spend my entire life on reddit, you know hehe ). Will check my armour tonight. The question is, to re-calibrate or wait for a fix?!

I have yet to try the incursion in any legitimate way so, would still like to do that. The tricky bit will be finding anyone else online who wants to do it with me!!

Dude, is this proper rallying or rally cross? What I mean is, is it possible to drive backwards on the track and crash into people?! If not, I ain't interested. biggrinshoot

I think people are just logging in occasionally to amass resources in the event that they DO fix the glitches AND the end-game is improved. Ergo, you may find people around to do the incursion.

Having said that, a quick look at reddit suggests that the weekly rewards aren't dropping at present (at least for some). eek

It has 3 disciplines. Rally, Rallycross and Hill Climb. It is much more of a sim than anything. I've not tried Rallycross yet so, can't say if you'd get away with your usual PvP shenanigans hehe

Seriously though, if you like rally games, this is the best one I've played (and I've played all of 'em!) Best played with a wheel, obviously.

Back to Division: Reddit also says that 'weapon balancing' is on it's way - which probably means that my badass SMG that took over 2 days to grind for, is going to be nerfed into the ground! FML I'd be surprises if marksmen rifles don't also take a hit.

I'm not overly fussed about the incursion. I'll get round to it eventually (or not) and certainly don't feel any sense of urgency. Despite the 240 GS piece rewards, I have very little motivation to do challenge mode at all.

Genuine question, and I won't de-rail this thread any further after this post, but playing with a wheel really confuses me.

You have an incredible looking Exige. Supercharged no less. Would you not derive more pleasure from driving that beastie around the local roads?!

Don't get me wrong, I get the appeal of "driving" various cars that are unobtainable even if funds allowed. I get that "driving" without fear of crashing and for minimal expense will have a pull. I also get that your own car may be unavailable for various reasons (I am counting down the days to de-sorning the fleet. biggrin). But I don't get how sitting in the lounge with a steering wheel can ever trump driving your own car in real life. I'd rather drive for real (and I am a truely awful driver- probably nailed a decent heel and toe, 5 times tops. Also, nearly crashed in a straight line when last at Oulton and finally, totalled my daily on the M62 a couple of years ago hehe).

It is a huge industry with various products and iterations that cost a lot of money. I am clearly in the minority here so definitely not having a go. Just curious as to what I am missing. Perhaps it is a "you have to try it to understand" kinda thing. scratchchin

Right. Back under my rock, I go (although I will continue to accuse you of wearing a full nomex suit when playing dirt rally, when next in party chat. smile

Why do you drive pretend computer cars Speckle, why?!!
I don't really think of driving my car and driving virtual cars as the same thing. Driving virtual cars is just another form of gaming.

The force feedback from modern driving peripherals is so good that you very quickly forget that you're not driving a 'real' car and the graphics so good that you also forget it isn't a 'real' rally stage. Suspension of disbelief and escapism are easy to achieve, same as any other game I suppose.

The fear of crashing in these games is very real. I crashed out of a Dirt Rally online monthly challenge after an hours worth of driving. I was on the 8th stage of 24 and I wrote the car off. That was it - no retry, no restart. Car was a write off, therefore I was out of the event until next month. I was absolutely gutted, which is kind of awesome!

Obviously, it costs nothing but game credits to repair the cars. I have way more game credits than real life money credits! hehe

There is no sense of competition when I drive my car in real world, I very rarely time my journey to Tesco wink

Sorry in advance if this has been done, but what level could I realistically get to solo? Is it possible to "free NY" as it were by yourself?
Unfortunately my days of arranging specific times to play in groups have long gone (I did enough playing FFXI) so I'll never ever get the nicest top tier stuff.

The guardian has picked up on this one https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/apr/26... I remember similar things happening in FFXI so the melodrama is abit lost on me.

O/T Dirt is a fantastic game, I'd buy it again just for the sound quality CM have put into it. It's really tough though, especially with a controller! Finland can go and do one laugh

Realistically, level 30 without any problem. The matchmaking in this game is generally very good. Go to the mission you want to do, hit matchmaking and you'll be put into group of randoms. The only thing to be mindful of is being matched with players significantly above your level will increase the difficulty of the enemies. If that happens, either kick the high level player or, leave the group and matchmake again. I often run the daily challenge mission with randoms.

There is also matchmaking for Free Roam and for the Dark Zone, both of which I have found to be surprisingly effective. You can also matchmake for the incursion but, I haven't tried that yet so, can't comment.

Thanks for the response, I am enjoying going through it solo very very slowly when I stop being distracted by other games.

My rally list goes from Best - Worst: Greece / Wales / Monte Carlo / Germany / Sweden / Finland. Sweden only beats Finland because I tend to 'bounce' down when I make a mistake.

I solo'ed up to level 30, no problemo. In fact, I've only ever tied up with one other random in the DZ. Still to do a challenge mission solo though but that is my next aim although it may take time. Might have a go with a group first.

I really hope their form of weapon balancing isn't just to nerf the better guns. Instead they need to make the others worth using.

Also, they really need to look at weapon talents. Outside of 5 or 6 of these they are either completely useless or require unrealistic combinations/amounts of firearms, health and electronics to unlock.

2 week ban for cheesing 1st offence, permanent ban for 2nd offence - but how will they detect you?

So rather than improve the quality of their games programming they're going to punish people for taking advantage of it?! Good one.

I agree with them when they talk about bugs slipping through and it being impossible to test everything, but the sheer amount of things broken in the game - some of them very basic coding errors - should be embarrassing for them as professionals.

Agree. Will be interesting to see if the new Broken Circle mission is glitch free when it comes on line. Mind you unless you are GS 220+ it is likely to be out of reach and the fully geared guys will be the ones to get the new 'pink'? gear rewards, pushing the divide even further.

The 2 week ban and the permaban are specifically for people hacking/using aimbots and such like on PC.

What they have said about exploit abuse (such as cheesing the incursion) is that they will make public a list of all known exploits. If you exploit them after they have been made public and are caught, you will be punished according to the severity of your abuse and the history of your account.

I'm not sure what I think about this. They had to do something, obviously. But, quite honestly, if they roll back my account or stop me from playing for any period of time, I'll just move on to another game and won't buy any DLC content.

A far better idea would be to fix exploits quickly and efficiently once they're identified or, temporarily suspend access to the activity that is being exploited.

Hopefully however, the next incursion won't be exploitable. I take your point about the exploiters having an advantage but, we'll all catch up eventually after 1.2 drops.

I'm not so sure. All those that have taken advantage and exploited Falcon Lost already have high enough gear scores to walk straight into the next incursion without issue. I'm still struggling to get a gear score of over 200 without a huge negative affect on my stats. I lose 15k health by sticking on all my gear for not a huge increase in DPS. It's just not worth it and I'm certainly not able to run through FL on challenging at this stage.

I'm in the same boat. My Striker set gives me a higher GS but, I much prefer the Sentry set which has me at about 194.

This morning was the first time I've (legitimately) even set foot in the incursion. I only got to wave 4 (admittedly solo) but, the idea of challenge mode doesn't fill me with confidence!

I don't really feel much incentive for the gear though. I've got the lower score stuff (ie. not 240), half of then from blueprints. So, already I can enjoy the perks they bring. Attempting challenge mode for the same kit but, with a higher GS doesn't motivate me. I won't get any extra perks, just a higher number by my GS rating, big deal!

The difference between 'the maxed out exploiters and the rest of us (I did exploit, but not very much) only really matters in the Darkzone, which is somewhere I spend as little time as I can. Having said that, my stats aren't terrible (240k dps, 68k health) but as I don't actively PvP, it makes no difference tome what gear other people have. I'll catch up with them eventually but, even if I don't ,it doesn't really bother me - as long as I still get to run around and kill stuff, I'm pretty happy biggrin

I think this game would benefit from haing it's own Gjallahorn, something people actually feel motivated to play for!
