Put in a couple of hours last night and agree fully with comments on single player longevity. I think you'd be bored after a few days. Didn't get to 'squad up' so yet to see and understand that dynamic. I really liked the game though and will be pre-ordering it.
May try and get rid of Battlefront in the meantime whilst it's still worth something. Must have spent all of 2 hours playing that!

Awesome Singh and Kaney, so has the beta finished yet?, also has everyone pre-ordered it?
It has finished now . However, apparently, there will be an open beta at the end of the month. This was leaked on the Xbox store so may be Xbox only. Could also be complete rubbish. A few have pre-ordered. It is great fun in a squad.
We were a group of three who kept being shot by a group of four only about 100 yards from the DZ entrance. What they didn't realise is we all had nearly 24 hours play time in the beta, most of it in the DZ. two of us had yellow/gold weapons with mostly purple mods and I had two purple guns with three or four purple mods too. They kept trying, all four of them. We kicked their arse five times in a row. They were mighty persistent though.
Loved the beta, will definitely be ordering. Couldn't help but notice what was £20 six weeks ago slowly went to £22 and as soon as the good hype from the beta started coming through the price has only gone up and now sits at £26 from a key site.mstill worth it IMO.

From what I've seen, I'm still undecided. I watched a lot of streams over the weekend and, there just didn't seem to be all that much variety to the game. I realise it was only a beta but, other games have been slammed for their lack of content and I could see this getting quite repetitive, quite quickly.
I think I'll wait until the full game is released before I decide.

Understand Mr S. There was only 1 PvE mission in the beta and it was fairly generic. As per the Mynameisbyf vid above, there isn't much room for manoeuvre with a game set in contemporary NY. There will be no time travel, alternative dimensions and Oryx type people to mix things up. However, just like most games, it is tremendous fun with mates. I even saw Anton playing it yesterday.
Gaz- anywhere will do mate. Most places will send it out a day early. For such a big release, there ain't going to be any decent discount for the consoles.

Dude, why would you quit the game?! You won't get anything if you do. Okay. Lesson time . The DZ isn't simply PvP. It really is PvPvE. Squads go in and try to find loot or kill ads for loot. They then take said loot to a few designated spots to extract it. You can't just walk out of the DZ with it or turn off. No extraction= no drops.
Meanwhile, other squads are hunting the hunters or doing a mixture of both. We hunted ads but then shot those that we thought we could steal from and get away with it.
Shooting another agent, so going rogue, and then switching off means you won't be able to pick up the loot they drop and extract it.
Hope that makes sense, but I imagine it will click when you start playing.

when you were in the DZ and say turn rogue (I'm assuming some of you we're)
It is like the way YOU play Rocket League. Red rag to a bull. Not sure what you mean Gaz.
There's nothing stopping you quitting, but you won't retain any gear you've collected by doing so. Any loot you obtain has to be extracted in order for you to keep it and use later, so if you've mugged someone for something you're compelled to extract it. You gain nothing by quitting. If you've got gear you'll either extract and keep, die and lose it or quit and lose it.

That's the bit that makes sense now, as I didn't get to play the Beta I was unsure how it worked. sweet! roll on next month!lovechild said:

Also as far as I'm aware quitting in the DZ involves a countdown timer so there's no 'insta-quit'. And as said you're losing out on the main benefits of going Rogue. Looted Loot and DZ points for successfully remaining Rogue until the timer ticks down and you get your DZ points bonus which can be substantial. There's nothing stopping you quitting, but you won't retain any gear you've collected by doing so. Makes sense. I got the basics, but didn't really play enough to bother fully understanding how much xp/rewards certain scenarios generated.Cancelled my pre-order. Still undecided about longevity.

Looted Loot
Made me chuckleI have been looking forward to this game for quite a while now and with the release coming im starting to watch videos and read reviews. The dark zone looks fun but having read some comments on here can someone clarify what rogue is.
I know if you kill other players you go rogue, how do you lose your rogue tag or is it perm? Also I have read about hunting parties looking for rogue agents. How do the hunting parties not turn rogue?

If you go rogue, a timer is started. The more agents you shoot/kill, the higher the timer will go. To get rid of rogue status, you need to run until the timer runs down (hiding doesn't work as you're visible on radar to nearby players). Hunting parties don't turn rogue as they are effectively playing the cops. In fact, they collect a good amount of XP, currency and get to steal (or rather steal back) the loot that the rogue agent dropped.
Think of GTA. Committing crime will result in 5-0 being on your case (and 1 wanted star which is easy to get rid of) until you can evade them for long enough. Keep being a menace and you'll have 5 stars and it will take an age. Difference is, other players can play the cops.
Check out the new factions vid and the concept may make a bit more sense- your character (and every other player) is part of The Division which is one of around 5 factions. The Division is tasked with sorting out NY whereas the others (AI) are hell-bent on taking it over. Hence- shooting another agent is going rogue.
