I tried that horror game a while back, I didn't last more than 5 minutes passed that house, the suspense was too much.http://youtu.be/0CmT0SyI6ks

I'm desperate for an OR; I'm an avid gamer and like most of us have wished for this sort of thing to arrive. I read somewhere that it can make people dizzy and so I've got two questions for people who have used it.
1) Has anyone experience vertigo with it?
2) Do glasses wearers have to wear glasses when using it if they are near sighted?

Sometimes, it's usually when looking at fixed objects like HUDs or menus which don't rotate with your head, this I guess is similar to sea sickness. You do get used to it quickly though. DK2 added positional tracking ontop of the DK1 rotation tracking which helps a lot with VR sickness (imho). Would not recommend using while hungover.1) Has anyone experience vertigo with it?

You cannot practically wear glasses, there are replaceable lenses that come with headset that are supposed to deal with this.Edited by scorp on Monday 16th February 12:16
I've put 10's of hours into Elite:Dangerous in the Rift, running it off a GTX 970 in Ultra, with Bloom Shadows and Blur turned off, using DX12 Downsampling to bring it from 1440p to 1080p fr clarity on the text, it runs a steady 75FPS (on my HD TV with the same settings it clips al;ong at 220FPS)and I'm having zero issues with motion sickness even when moving my head fast to track ships in a dogfight.
The Rift comes with two lens sets, one is shallower to allow room for your glasses.

It's a definite advantage in combat, being able to track the ship you are fighting with your head movement rather than using the ships sensors makes your responses more intuitive ime.
To get the most from it you need voice attack running, all my flight/combat controls are on the hotas, all the non combat stuff like deploying landing gear, requesting docking permission is done by voice command, which just adds to the immersion further.

VR sickness, yes. It takes a bit of getting used to, some games are worse than others. Almost everyone who has tried mine has felt ill after a while. RobbieKB said:

I wear glasses no problem. You can change the lenses in the rift and it has an in/out adjustment as well. Big chunky glasses might be a problem.RobbieKB said:

It's fine with glasses - not ideal and I wear lenses if possible, but it's fine.Vertigo? Not really. FPS games can be barf-inducing though for many.
If you're thinking about buying one, don't. Wait for CV1. I'm thinking about selling mine as other than E;D it never gets used.
Direct to oculus I would think.
Q1 2016 could be 11 months away and that's without any additional slippage. It's going to have to be good to make people wait that long especially with rivals waiting especially the htc/valve offering which is looking at a November launch. Game support will be key of course.

Vive (Valve/HTC VR headset) is coming even earlier, November this year...
Yeah, early launch, the tie-up with Valve, plus the fact it has specifically designed controllers and seemingly superior tracking could be bad news for Oculus. I think I will wait for both of them and see which one is best (or buy both depending on price ..)Chuck328 said:
Ok, stupid question time...
How many of you were told by your parents when you were kids, "don't sit too close to the telly, you will damage your eyes"
So, I ask, any potential effects of long term exposure to this kind of tech?

Wait for evidence before believing baseless supposition.
