Not sure if this has been mentioned here before but I downloaded 'Affected - The Manor' a couple of days ago. For a fiver its excellent, I don't get on with the racing games as they make me dizzy but stuff like this is what the Oculus is all about.

Just picking up on this. I was at the festival of speed in the summer and queued up to have a go on the Playstation VR running the new gran turismo game. Have been itching to try a racing game as I've got a Gear VR and enjoy using that for various shooters etc but have been thinking about buying a rift for my PC to use with things like assetto corsa and Dirt.
Ended up feeling really disappointed as I ended up getting the same problems as you with feeling dizzy, more so with fast corners where my brain is telling me I should be feeling G force but I'm not and it makes me go dizzy.
It motions sickness by any other name.
I used to get it but I don't anymore. You do get used to it, the PSVR is actually pretty bad for it, much worse than the vive or rift as the PS4 can't really push enough pixels at a high enough frame rate for the racing games. I've not tried the new GT but I have used the PSVR in other games and they didn't work for me but a PC running the same works very well and I can play for hours with no sickness.
I know some people like to play with a fan on their face as that helps.

Interesting stuff thanks for that. I've played space cockpit games on the gear VR and had no issues at all, not heard the fan idea so will have to give that a go!
Good to know the differences between the rift and vive compared to the PS VR I'll have to try one of the others at some point

With a powerful enough PC you can also use super sampling where the PC renders the display at a higher resolution which makes things much smoother and can help with motion sickness.Have been itching to try a racing game as I've got a Gear VR and enjoy using that for various shooters etc but have been thinking about buying a rift for my PC to use with things like assetto corsa and Dirt.

I used to consider myself a gamer, but since getting the rift, I'm more a virtual racing driver, truck driver, space pilot, robot killer.
It's so much better than playing on a monitor, I can't wait for next generation higher res version...I don't think I will hang about getting it either, I get so much enjoyment from it.
Literally a game changer...absolutely love it.

what are the compelling Oculus games?
There are quite a few. Lone Echo/Echo Arena, Robo Recall and Elite Dangerous are the obvious go-to VR titles. I've had my Rift for over a year, and so far it's Alien: Isolation that has blown me away the most. A caveat: you'll need your 'VR legs' to play this, as the VR implementation is hacked in and breaks a few rules regarding locomotion in VR. But if you can stomach smooth locomotion, here's a proper triple-A game, fully playable in VR, with a long (+25 hours) campaign that is elevated to stratospheric heights in VR. The first time I breathlessly hid in a locker from a Xenomorph, peering through the slats in an identical manner to how you would do it in real life, I was sold. And it keeps getting better and better as it goes along. I was constantly bowled away by some of the set designs throughout, and it was amazing to be able to walk around and explore the Alien universe. There are other scenes and events that I won't spoil, but you'll find yourself in places that make you feel like you are living a movie. It's a masterpiece, and I place it right alongside the first two Alien movies.
This should be good! From the makers of the Metro games.

How many versions of the apocalypse will we see lol
Every new game is another zombie/end of world mayhem game...I have zero tactical skill amd just get wasted in the training missions usually...then people wonder why I like racing games (spoiler because I know how to drive at least lol)

I have a brand new unopened set of Touch controllers and the sensor. Does having a third sensor make a great deal of difference or should I just sell the lot?
The room where I have the PC is a touch on the small side.
Can you just do what I do...use it mostly for cockpit games, but I move the PC into the living room and set up the other sensors and have a VR night with friends...there are some cracking touch games out and it's such a laugh to watch people's first reactions to VR gaming...The room where I have the PC is a touch on the small side.
Touch and extra sensors are all in the kit now, you might struggle to move them on for a decent price anyway...

Ah OK b2bs, I didn't realise that, they came for free anyway.Touch and extra sensors are all in the kit now, you might struggle to move them on for a decent price anyway...
My PC is 6 years old but has had a few new bits, I have an ASUS STRIX 1060 6Gb, some SSDs but the processor is still the same. i2500K,is it worth an overclock or buy the best second-hand one I can get?
Does the RAM make a difference? I only have 8

I've got a newer gfx card but I am running with a i2500k and it's just fine. The only issue I've ever had is with American Truck Simulator, but I've checked when running it and it's not CPU bound and the VR for that game is Beta so I am not convinced any issue I see if because of hardware. My PC is 6 years old but has had a few new bits, I have an ASUS STRIX 1060 6Gb, some SSDs but the processor is still the same. i2500K,is it worth an overclock or buy the best second-hand one I can get?
