Yup, 48 hours since getting it, played the single player game for probably 3 or 4 hours and not managed to get an onine game once yet.
Half the fun of a new game is trying stuff out. Just not sure if it's worth hanging onto just to play online. It's good single player, but not awesome.

Just been researching online about driveclub, and it turns out, that they have put an update out yesterday that puts everyone in a queue.
so it's one out, one in. you have to wait online to get a seat at the multiplayer table once you leave your session you will be booted and someone else will take your place.
I am going to try and leave my PS4 on when I come back from work, so hopefully I will be in multiplayer a few hrs after.

Anyway. How hard is it to drift a Spyker.... one of the challenges is to do this, and I haven't even got on the comlpetion board
It's not too bad. You'll get nowhere if you use automatic gear changes though. Manual only for the big points...Just took a video of the M5 Norway drift challenge...
F10 M5 Drift
I don't care if the handling isn't sim-perfect, anyone who says this isn't good fun has some odd criteria!

I've only played the game for an so far but I'm not overly impressed. To me personally its not realistic enough to be a simulator and not accessible enough to be a arcade racer. Graphics are nice if a bit gimmicky. I usually start the game up, drive an event and then shut off the PS4 to go do something else.
Maybe it is more fun with the online features working, it seems to be a core functionality of the game but I haven't managed to connect to the servers.

Its bad you cant put your actual club logo on your cars.
And if it is only 6 places per club, I have made a continuation club name
Piston heads2 with a logo that is similar to PH.
join if you like
I just joined, but I'm still a bit confused about this game. From what I understand you can't play unless you have friends online and you invite them to a race? And if it is only 6 places per club, I have made a continuation club name

Continual upgrades to the DRIVECLUB servers are building a steady increase in performance, meaning that we're getting more and more players connected.
The next server update is coming within 24 hours and will mean we can start to switch on more of the online features, so that you will be able to play more of DRIVECLUB online.
We are sorry that we don't have more concrete news to share right now, but please be patient. We will have more information for you tomorrow.

They've had the same message since Friday.I genuinely hope some people lose their jobs over this, sounds like they have some very incompetent people in their IT department
There was a piece on IGN about Driveclub, sounds like they really put a lot of effort into the networking features, writing quite a lot of stuff from the ground up, it was quite interesting really.

Very enthusiatic guy, interesting to hear that the game engine is built not just for this game but for other stuff on over quite a few years, doesn't seem too bad for there first engine on this architecture something just gone tits up in the network code, st happens as they say, its not been that long really, things can only get better.

So what's the key to drifting?
Nothing Ground breaking but my basic tips are - Starting the drift early with the handbrake. I try to hit the apex sideways so I can keep the drift going right until the exit kerb. To begin with I was starting the drift too late and always coming off the back of the track.
Sounds simple but make sure you use a car with enough power to keep the wheels spinning - Manual gears help a lot but can be tricky at first.
Put the car view to outside the car is much easier for drifting.
I practised over and over again on Cayoosh point, trying different techniques until I got it right and worked out how you get the most points. Its obviously all about speed and angle, but I found if you get too much angle and slow down too much you then lose out on the speed sections as you need to go into these as fast as you can.
Just practise pal, its really easy on a controller once it clicks.
