I'm going to play something else for a week and give 'em a chance, a new patch is dropping in the next 24hrs which should restore some functionality but as my mates are waiting for the PS+ version I don't want to burnout on it.

Yea that's yiur problem. You need the m235i at least to get some decent slides in, but that's still a bit weedy. I quite like the gran turismo or spyker, need to play single player for a bit to unlock the SLS or M5 for some proper drifting.

The trick to drifting is speed and manual gears. The faster you go the quicker your points tally up. Don't forget the speed sections I between drift sections are just as important.

I've managed to get 2nd on the Spyker drift, not yet tried with manual gears.

Having put some time into this now I have to say the AI is abysmal. Constantly being penalised because I've been rammed off the road by AI cars that apparently don't have to slow for anything gets tiring really fast. I also feel like a chump having to break for corners whilst the AI blasts on through at full throttle like they're on rails.

I'm part of that, earnt a load of points for the team over the last few days - would be even more if the connection didn't keep dropping out (points aren't synced).

Yeah i know. Pisses me right off, some vehilces say 'unlocked when club reaches lvl 3' which we are passed already. But wont unlock till the club is available to look at online at that moment

Thanks for the play Matt. The more people in the club the quicker we get up the levels, the quicker we unlock more cars.

As i see tonight that i have the max No of club members for piston heads2. If someone else that is playing the game makes another 'piston heads3' then we can get more members with the forum name.

Oh btw. This is an update from DC HQ.

Over the next 24 hours we are rolling out a new game update alongside server upgrades that will help to improve server performance, clubs and multiplayer functionality.

We are also running essential diagnostics periodically to help us continue to improve server performance, which may disrupt online play for you when you get connected. This will be kept to a minimum.

We're glad that more of you are getting to play online but we are sorry that many players are still having a hard time getting connected. We are working around the clock to improve connectivity and will keep you informed as we continue to make progress.

Have been enjoying this game and up until now have defended it against bad words from people I know. I have waited patiently for a decent driving game since launch and was really annoyed when this was delayed...

However.....its struggling to keep my interest..... I mean I am getting sick of Single player races already, I like the whole earning the stars (lap times within a race etc), but the AI are absolutely st. Im getting sick of being penalised for "Vehicle impact" when some other tt rams me from behind. Im also getting annoyed with being rammed off and span off the track near the end of an event. Now I dont know if its programmed in for them to get more aggressive towards the end but I find at 80+% or towards the end of the last lap on a race I often end up getting hit up the back and span off the track into the barrier.

In recent years I have found the same with all new games and only really found any proper fun and longevity in the online multiplayer - and well lets not even get on to that. I havent yet been able to get into 1 single event!!

The only thing which keeps me playing this game is my pure determination to beat another human being. So I have been doing single drift events over and over again to try and get to the top of the leaderboards! So far I am no.2 in one of the Chile ones - but im sure a flock of 13yr old will have beaten me by tonight.....

All I say is bring on Project Cars........but then PS have cocked this up as I can no longer use my fking Logitech steering wheel! I wouldnt mind if there was a decent wheel out there for decent money - but at the moment you have to blow £250 on some thrustmaster thing.....

Tempted to eBay the game whilst I can still get £40 quid for it and if I miss it Ill buy it in the future when its £20.

For those of you who have been online - is it worth it?

stop braking too early and they won't get near you

I only managed one multiplayer session and it was very good racing, I too am really annoyed that I have not been able to get back in.

That is the whole point of the game, its a leaderboard/challenge based game and it is about lording it over everyone.

This is majorly annoying, I want to use my G27, I am sure I could be much better in some of the slidy hyper cars using a good throttle and steering inputs.

I have been trying to get the clean lap, so am being bit of a girl....

Clean lap or the Clearup trophy, for the clean lap that just comes through good driving, for the clearup trophy, you might find it easier to achieve in one of the early 12 player hot hatch races where the cars are easier to control or to get out of missed braking points or even to avoid a mad AI lunge when you see it coming in the mirrors etc.

If anyone wants to use cars that are club level limited, feel free to join the club I created, only 2 login are in it, and both of them are me

Took me a couple of days to get club level 10, and I don't think I have any use of the club, only created it on launch date to see what the fuss is with clubs etc etc...
