So I just spent two hours getting all the bits to my driving chair and wheel out of storage then assembling the thing (you probably already know where this is going lol). I then strung all the wires of the wheel carefully down the crevices of the driving chair etc to make it neat and tidy. Next I had to search for the damn power adapter for the logitech g27 wheel. Finally got it all ready, sat down to play driveclub and nothing. I googled and the ps4 has a security chip in it so no old wheels work with it.
So now I've got to take this chair apart and put it all back in storage, probably more enjoyable than playing driveclub lol.

Right, just had a few goes at online part of the game, I only selected Hyper class racing because I wanted to try how DRS and KERS works, let's just say... I'm not used to pressing extra buttons in racing games
Car is the P1, DRS and KERS are both on this car, my first go at using both of these end up me flipping the car , because A, I forgot to switch DRS off, B, I didn't know there was a U-turn up ahead while I was using DRS and KERS...end result is me going straight on and flip the car
After a few goes I managed to use KERS and DRS to get a jump start on a couple of the races, and slowly getting to grips with using DRS, and have to keep myself from using KERS all the time.
I do like this 'new' thing, hopefully these type of things get used in other racing games, this is the only part I like about Drive Club at the moment...apart from that, it's just a arcade racing game really...

How did you manage to play online? I've played it for a good 5 hours today and got on line for about 2 of those and could not launch a game, managed to register for the lobby then got booted out every time with server fail.
Anyhow the single player game is not improving it just gets more ridiculous as the cars get faster. The R8 V10 is on rails and would probably out brake Lewis's F1 AMG Merc.
I've had to turn the background music off too as it was doing my head in and I quite like dance music but this ste is worse than gabba.
One tip is switching to the front bumper cam rather than the cockpit to avoid the complete blackout that occurs on some tracks under certain light conditions.
If I didn't love racing games it would have been in the bin hours ago. Think Real Racing on the iPad, as someone mentioned earlier, with a ps4 controller but even less realistic handling.

I still haven't been online, it just says check your network connection.
Like someone said its real racing for iPad with a playstation controller. The physics don't even come close to ps2 gt4, at least in that game you could feel some semblance of the suspension working.
If you have a ps3 with gt6 and your thinking about getting a ps4, forget about it. There is nothing here for you.
Someone is going to hammer me now and say its a great arcade game
I have a feeling I might be bias towards realism but IMO if you going to make a car game why not make the cars handle like real cars.

The online part, honestly, it's more about luck getting a connection, I got disconnected from a few lobby and sometimes not able to connect to find a lobby.
I created a club to see what that is all about, this is serving as a connection notice, if the game is not connection to the servers, I can't choose my club paint job, and when the servers are back, I get to choose my paint job, I just keep my eyes on that.

You must of turned music on, as it is off by default.
Yup getting online involves a bit of luck, when the server connects if you are playing the tour jump out of it and get into Multiplayer.
From what I have seen of the bad reviews people are upset about the things it hasn't got like rewinds and that it isn't open and free roam etc, so feels a step backward, but actually the game is pretty solid, the handling is fine as much as I can tell on the pad, the sound is good, performance is good, tracks are nice and the online has been pretty good when you get on, I had a solid hour or so play online last night and found myself racing with a good bunch, had quite a laugh, job done for me, think it is going to be quite good fun once the servers a club stuff works.
It feels a bit dry at first but level up, open some cars and get online it is good.

I played it for about 30 mins so haven't really got into it yet. So far, apart from the graphics its poor.
No idea if the cars improve but the handling and sounds are awful. Nothing like real life - to turn a car around a gentle corner I have to hand brake slide a hot hatch to get the thing around; there doesn't seem to be any build up or decrease in speed - it's all or nothing. Maybe I just don't know how to play the game properly yet but first impressions is the developers have thrown all efforts into their graphics department and ignored physics engines, etc.
This whole "social gaming" nonsense just won't work long term. People just get bored of playing the same games and move on, no matter how good it is first time round. It's a shame because watching trailers and pics it comes across as impressive but after the first race I thought it's very much like those old school arcade games. Hand braking around every corner, smacking into everything and getting points deducted, full throttle every time, etc - it's just not realistic. It also uses fake soulless places - no crowds watching the cars and so on people can associate with.
Like a previous poster has said - it's real racing (iPhone / ipad) but with a PS4 controller. I actually think real racing is better tbh.
Eagerly waiting for a true racer like project cars.

The physics/handling leave a lot to be admired. Roll on PCars and F1 2015 for a proper competitive simulation.
Not a fan of the gash liveries.
Music reminds me of Deus Ex Human Revolution/Tron legacy.
Furthermore, my club is called NAMBLA if anyone is wanting into one.

I like it, definitely an arcade racer. Played for a few hours now and it's much better when the cars have some power!
Mattknight84 if anyone wants to add me.
I agree, it improves as the cars do on single player. I even quite like the AI. Still not managed to get an online game yet :-(Mattknight84 if anyone wants to add me.
Might well look you up. Just got a Ps4 so don't know anyone! I think my gamertag is Craig milne.

Do it, I don't know anyone else with it either yet - not that I've been able to get online anyway!Might well look you up. Just got a Ps4 so don't know anyone! I think my gamertag is Craig milne.
I have played quite a bit of this now, I am still enjoying it, I think the only bits I am not a fan of are the drift bits as I just can't hold a drift, but that's true in real life too :-D
As mentioned above if feel free to add me, will no doubt be on when the missus puts on the X factor, it's my escape :-D
