Air Superiority is for jet wh0res (or those trying to unlock jet assignments!) and is great for racking up jet unlocks, but is a bit one dimesional. It's essentially conquest but in aircraft and is only on the China Rising maps.

Capture the Flag is a lot of fun, promotes teamwork and both offense and defense. Possibly only on Second Assault maps?

Oblivion is good fun - like Capture the flag, but there's just the one bomb to fight over and take to 3 enemy Mcoms.

There's another game mode that's essentially Squad Rush, but you only get one life per game. Not bad, quick fire rounds, but quite limited in the area you play in and obviously only 8 people in the game.

Squad Death Match - not played it a huge amount on the BF4, but really only a novelty in BF3.

I blame the knife animation sequence! I amassed just under 40000 tags on 2142 with 27000+ of those being unique back in the day, all because it was just a simple 1 hit swipe (provided the dreaded "" sound didn't happen!)all done without going into those poxy knife only servers as well Good old EA though thought after a complaint from a known whiner amongst the hardcore 2142 players that it would be best to reset my stats! lost interest after that.

There was a little campaign when the alpha was released for bf3 to not keep the knifing animation but alas it stayed. I must say though it's a nice touch that the BJ-2 knife is in bf4

What's the deal with no sound in vehicles when you first get in them? Last night I got taken out by missiles as I couldn't hear the lock on

Knifing in BF4 is more hassle than it's worth - if it's not the rubber banding, or your enemy suddenly spinning around for an easy counter knife, it's you getting shot during the 3 seconds or so it takes to carry out the kill.

The dog tags are also gash, so I'm not bothered in the least about collecting them (yet!).

ITs st, your best off grabbing the vehicle then waiting 10 seconds until the sound kicks in. Hard to do in the planes but easy enough to do in the choppers.

Just had a look at the leaderboards for knifing. I think the Division level for it screwed up at someone has 12k kills and i have 150, yet were both the same div

Also, on Gulf of Oman, if you stay in the lift of the two tower blocks and a baddie calls the lift from the bottom, you go down and come back up with them yet you cant see them until the doors open up - boom instant tag taking time

Me too - have the 20 jet kills and about 80 pistol kills so far. The 2x shotgun ribbon in a round requirement isn't remembered, so don't bother with it until you've got the jet and pistol kills.

Have also been working on the assignment where you have to land on the top of the Firestorm tower and get a 10 person kill streak in one round. Landing on top of the tower isn't too bad - just take a transport heli and hover it a few feet above and then hop out.

You don't actually have to land on the very top either, the top level accessible by ladder works too. "Landing" means touching on the way down, by the way. As long as you clip it on your way down you don't have to actually land on it.

I find the best way to get streaks is to grab the power upgrade sniper rifle at flag E. It's semi auto and a one hit kill. The scope is gash though, so use the range finder and zero the scope in to be sure to hit long distance targets.

Think we helped each other out with those jet kills on Saturday morning youngsyr, got a kill on you and then you got me back about 2 minutes later in the same round. Well on my way with the pistol kills, up to 134 at present.

If you have Naval Strike unlock SR2 (which is a beast) and play with it. In no time you'll have all the PDWs unlocked.

Generally carbines are better for medium-longer ranges. PDWs suck at longer range, damage drops off to 12,5 compared to 15,sth for carbines.
