Managed to get 3 rounds in on the PH server last night before having to go do fatherly duties. Got smashed by the opposing team each time. Why do people not play for flags and when one is being contested by the opposition go back and attempt to intervene? Got so threadders with it last night i resorted to camping D on Hainan resort with recon class taking out flag attackers alone. One thing i do notice on conquest (especially Zavod / firestorm) is that players will go and cap the flag closest to opposition spawn as a priority more then anything. I don't think i even encroached into the area around flag C as i was flicking between A and B trying to re-take them. Think there was only 2 other players trying to help do this. the rest were busy sitting on F and milling around.
Not sure if it's just a console gamer thing as well but no f
ker seems to drop ammunition or med boxes upon request unless your playing locker / metro and all bunched up spamming escalators etc. I play support almost exclusively and will drop an ammo box as soon as i reach where i am getting to.

Teamwork in general seems to be lacking a lot unless you are on with other PH'ers or get in with another clan that's playing, people seem to lack the ability to think "what would I need right now?" and refuse to swap kits to meet the demand, I guess some try to win, others just want unlocks or assignment trinkets. ker seems to drop ammunition or med boxes upon request unless your playing locker / metro and all bunched up spamming escalators etc. I play support almost exclusively and will drop an ammo box as soon as i reach where i am getting to.As someone who plays commander a fair bit I find that pretty much everyone ignores anything you ask of them, what they fail to grasp is that by simply accepting an order or working as a team towards a specified goal it can open up lots more promotions, vehicle drops, supplies etc as well as giving the commander access to deploy gunships, missles etc. On BF2 on the PC you could at least open up a console and type in what you wanted and why you were asking for it to give a bit more context, maybe it's just consoles that are missing this?
I think its easy to get engrossed in the action of the game. Sometimes i look at the minimap and think, 'oh sh!t the commander has sent an order', simply because im in a firefight or trying to defend a position.
I do see far too many people 'milling around' or camping. I do it some times but generally to annoy the team and eat away at their tickets. Zavod i great for it if you hang around the tanks / in the woods and take out the snipers. or on the lower section of the lowers and take out attackers.
I still see far to few people spawning on flags that are being captured. Even if you die there is probably a good chance you have hurt the guy trying to Cap the point and lit him up on the mini map for the rest of your squad to spawn in and kill him.

Absolutely and that's totally understandable - I guess one of the other issues is that when you highlight a specific squad to give an order you often realise that none of them are in the same place on the map My gripe is really about the start of a round - I try to throw out orders for all the usual suspects, the first flag on a linear map for people on foot, something more strategic for a chopper bus... essentially just to get a "yeah" for something they were doing anyway to boost up the bonus bar to allow me to drop treats when they are needed.
Of course when I'm playing normally I probably commit all the crimes I'm highlighting just so I can pursue my own little aims
I'd love to have a change around of the hud but there's no real time way of seeing what affects what (BF2 and even 2142 had it right with it's hud settings section) As it is though i don't find it overly cluttered unless it's on the spam maps (locker/metro)
Would love to play some rounds where a commander or SL is issuing orders. since playing on my own account now and not my uncles i have rarely come across such moments happening. Spamming the commo rose barely triggers a response from the SL! I think a headset is due soon.

It has been like this since the very first time I played BF2 on the PS3...So, when you find someone who plays like a team, FR them !!
I also drop loads of ammo, med kits and I try to revive too. I also try to repair tanks and I don't jump into someone else's tank they are repairing, and drive it off into the enemy base to die.....

It's amazing how many engineers don't. If i see a friendly tank with anything less than full health I will die trying to get to it to help repair it. I think almost all players forget about how valuable things like tanks are on the battlefield! If a tank is getting hit i can probably make the difference between it winning the battle and loosing it. And a lost tank instantly gives the energy a advantage. Same goes for choppers and boats! So, when you find someone who plays like a team, FR them !!

Noticed this allot over the last week or so. Couple of days ago on TDM I was on 7 health jumping and shooting in front a Medi who was trying to look out of a window, even selected the I Need A Medi Kit option. Eventually he started jumping around like me and shooting the air so I ran away as he obviously a crazy man. This kind of thing happened a few times over them couple of days. I guessing they just don't realise what their roles are.

Feel your pain mate., thats why i tend to play support as i KNOW i can have unlimited ammo.
One thing though i i will often throw ammo down because i can see a symbol above someones head and they run straight past my ammo box and don't get anything. Why would you do that? even if you are running and gunning you would still make sure your fully stocked before charging in.

Friends list wasn't working last night so went solo! Saying that on Golmud ( for some reason I'm playing all the original maps) and fk me of by playing the objective I was top of the winning leaderboard! Quite bizzare as I went 2:7 but held on to A and B for most of the game. Didn't last long as soon went back to 14th on the next round. Quick match stuck me in a Mexican server!

Yep, I'm just never surprised when the PSN is acting up now (which is allot). What a shocking service we get from them. It was tolerable when it was free.
I reckon Pexy was impressed with my chopper skills last night, I bet he felt threatened every time he seen me flying towards him. It comes to something when I can't even get out of my spawn and my son says I've turned into a woman driver. It went something like.. Start Game, select chopper, go up, hit building, crash burn and die, respawn, select chopper, fly forward, hit tree, crash burn and die. Even on a empty server I'm a danger to myself ha ha.

yeah i tried to get on last night but couldn't even open my notifications. Tried playing a few games but the lag and my beer goggles really didn't help me.
Back on tonight though.
