BLOODY EA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to do a reinstall of windows and so therefore a reinstall of BF4.

4Hours including the bloody DLC. Poxy EA throttling the download speed.

If you are going to move pretty much wholesale into digital supply then let people have the bloody games as fast as they can.

100 meg broadband and I'm getting 3.5 mb/s off of origin.

wkers!!!!!!

That is ridiculous! A mate of mine got around the re-install issue by copying the game files to a portable 250gb SSD, then when he wanted to move it to his new PC he simply loaded it on from there in a few minutes. Probably not much help to you now though! hehe

He did have an issue with the new Wolfenstein though- the game crashed about 7 hours in and it actually took out his game profile so had to start all over again.

Yeah I'm with Virgin.I phoned them to complain about all the junk mail I get from them with offers for new customers. I pointed out that I've been with them for 10 years and I get no offers just price increases and asked what they would do for me and they bumped me up to 100 meg for free.

They are rolling out a national upgrade as well so between September and November they will bump me up to 150 meg.

Always good to moan.

I've been taking an unintended holiday from it- partly because I've had too much other stuff happening through the summer (what we've had so far), and partly because I've decided I'm going to upgrade my cpu (to 4.2ghz), m-board, RAM, and switch to Win8 in the next few weeks in preparation for Farcry 4.

I didn't want to catch the BF4 bug again only to find I have teething troubles running it on my new setup (it is still bugged to hell I take it?)... Once the decent weather & BBQ season comes to a close I'll be back into with a vengeance- probably just as everybody else has moved onto something else hehe

Well my PC at the moment seems to be at the 'Goldilocks' spec for BF4- it runs it fully maxed out with no slow-downs, instability issues, or glitches (other than the standard BF ones). But I just know that as soon as I swap the cpu/m-board/os etc it's going to be like starting again in terms of getting it to run smoothly! rotate

Not tried DayZ, but I did recently pick up Farcry 3 on Steam sale for £3.50 so have been messing around with that in my spare time.

To be fair when I was talking of bugs I was mostly referring to some of the dodgy hit- detection etc. Reliability-wise it's been bug free for me. Yet my cousin who was running it on an almost identical system (same cpu, m/board, gfx card, power supply) could barely join a game for more than 5mins without either getting kicked, the game freezing/crashing, or simply unable to connect to a server full-stop!

I bet being able to play it on high settings at a good fps has been a big help too!

Redman-Clarke has exactly this issue. Myself and fading are no slouches and we cannot work out why but at random intervals, anything from minutes apart to hours apart, he will get a message "BF4 has stopped working" and it'll just shut down. We have no idea what is causing it. He has almost exactly the same rig as mine but I never have that problem.

It is very infuriating!!!

I posted, then I was actually did some work for a bit.
Then came back and managed to do that thing when you confuse PH by going back and whammo...

anyway back to tossing it off & reading PH now, so usual service is resumed.

I think BF4 is a massive backwards step from III, the graphics look horrible (like some sort of horrible conversion from a console game) and the gameplay just feels weird. Sticking to BF3, one good outcome is the hackers have all but disappeared to go and play BF4
