So I picked this up in the origin sale along with Hardline, does anyone have a solution for the sprint/spinning issue?

Apparently it's caused by controllers being connected (even if unused), seems silly to go about unplugging controllers just for this? frown
Silly? Yes
F**king annoying? HELL YES!!
Unavoidable part of the game? Alas yes.

It's why I never fly anything in the game. I can only do it with a controller and I cannot be arsed with unplugging / plugging it in all the bloody time.

Sorry pal but there is no help for you.

If I start the game before I turn on any of the wireless controllers (basically play anything else) then it will work, I generally don't touch flying machines anyway (that's from my BF2 days when everyone else would run to them first) so won't feel like I'm missing out.

Is there anything I need to know before jumping back in (before BF1 comes out and the servers go dead). From the PS4 thread it seems the top tips for newbies are to;

- Join a squad
- Spot stuff, lots of stuff

The last BF game I've been playing regularly was 3 again, I can't remember the last time I played 4! I keep thinking I'll have another game on 4 then get sidetracked with something else- currently it's moving into a new house.

I still see quite a few of the names logged in on Origin though so I'm sure quite a few must still be playing it.

When I'm up and running at my new place I will likely give it another go though- fiber-optic also means I'll finally have the ability to download updates in less than 8 hours, which has been a pretty big stumbling block up to now biggrin

Yeah I hated it for the 18months I was without fibre, now things download nice and fast.

I haven't played a BF/CS since CS:GO came out, but I always had the most fun on BF2 in the old days so was hoping to rekindle some of that joy. I suspect I'm going to spend alot of time getting sniped from a long way away frown But perseverance will pay off... or I'll hoard the tanks and shoot down planes again laugh

Well first proper go last night, lost spectacularly due to my inability to shoot anything...

  • clicks on "noob" server
Expect my team to be like this:

so I would fit in

unfortunately this guy hadn't read the server description

I think I was 0 for 7 on this guy, the only other guy who was good I was 2 for 3 in our encounters so I don't feel too bad... gonna need alot of practice though!

Im still around daytime but rarely play at night (kids older and have commandeered the gaming rig). Took a while to settle on 4, but recently went back to 3 and hated it. Bought star wars, bloody waste of money, will defo be buying the new BF1

I moved onto PS4 and GTA5...

But if a few people on Pc are getting BF1 then probably keen to get involved again.

Playing console I've got used to good voice chat, so if they have this nailed then it could be great.

Off topic but do you play GTA 5 on PC at all Glade?

I'll definitely be onboard with BF1 too, I can't wait.

Damn!

Me and my cousin (Avenger80 from the BF 3 & 4 list) have been looking for a couple of others to join in on voice-comms for some of the heists.

Truth be told I haven't played in about three months. Even then it was sporadic, maybe an hour or two was all I could stomach. Will be getting BF1 (likely I'll get a beta invite, maybe even an Alpha too) but at the moment I'm more excited by Titanfall 2!

I used to knock off at 12 on a Friday, and there used to be a lot of PHers on then sadly can't do that any more.. Boo

Might buy a second gfx card to x-fire with my other one... Hopefully the graphics card game hasn't moved on too far and that will be a stonking setup

I will be pre ordering Battlefield 1. Wasn't sure about it at first but I have been lucky enough to get an invite to the alpha testing & I'm hooked on it .

I really didn't want to pre order another BF game from EA (or any game) but you lot are really making it difficult.

You know its worth it just for the inevitable rants from foobes which normally end up getting him kicked from the server biggrin
