I've not been able to get online for a few days.

Mixture of unable to 'host messages' and 'timed out' messages.

It wasn't working this morning either.

I got online fine, made up my character, did a few of the starter stuff and then went to fannying about exploring and getting cars.

I'm only lvl4 so is that why i can't modify any of the "high end" car's as the custom shops were calling them?

I think that's it.

The first batch of goodies (SMG/Armor/premium cars) don't appear till level 5, I think the best bet is to level up with the races where you pick your car from a list first.

I was on fine too - no issues since the latest upgrade except it Times me out when we all vote freeroam at the end of a mission and I'll then get a message saying I left a job before it was completed = bad sport... that's annoying!!

Yeah I was on last night, not quite "prime time" but was on 11pm-1am and it was sound as a Pound.

Some small child with a squeaky voice drove past me in free roam and blew me up, like a drive by RPG or something which was really weird

Hmm, time to start playing and doing simple races then.

Have had a few robberies go wrong when the Police ran a rape train through me though...

I think mine maybe related to Virgin media, who seem to be having issues also.

Will have a play tonight, and see if I can get on line.

The races are good fun, I usually just select quick job > race and it'll shove you in a lobby. A few K per race quite often, if you can basically keep your vehicle on the track and go half quickly

Might just be the R* servers, try going into the story mode and back, if not they say DO NOT start a new character

Not sure of the ins and outs, if you've got a character already I think you might overwrite it if you start again. I've not had any problems, though, so somebody else might be able to tell you better info.

There's a full screen box that's been coming up on mine saying sometihng like "If the game says cloud servers are unavaileble, hold down, enter story mode with another character, and DO NOT create a new online character in the empty online slot" so I assume it'll sort itself out eventually.

Fun online with some of you guys last night. Particularly amusing doing the jets mission, only to eject twice in a row straight after take off.

Triangle does not change weapons.
