The GTA V, XBox Crew thread

Yeah it does seem probable that you wouldn't be able to change between the two formats and use the same stats. You'd think that they would be able to manage loading the data to the rockstar social club and updating it accordingly.
30 players in multiplayer sounds good. Hopefully in the next couple of years I'll be able to get on board with that.

For those switching to PS4, there is a new thread

how comes there is a trend to go PS4 rather than XBONE? Rob and I will probably be switching
I would've preferred to have an xbox one but having looked online at various comparison screen grabs and gifs the ps4 just has much better graphics and if I'm spending money I haven't really got I'd rather spend it on the console with the better graphics. Gonna miss forza though, I played gt5 and wasn't anywhere near as impressed as I was with forza 4....escapereality said:

Gonna miss forza though, I played gt5 and wasn't anywhere near as impressed as I was with forza 4....Pretty much every single dual console release so far has performed better (higher res, faster frame rate, better detail, in some cases significantly) on the PS4 over the Xbone. Not 'fanboy' talk, but proper independent analysis.
I see no real point in sticking to Xbone rather than that of habit in buying the "next in line" from microsoft. Not wanting to turn this into a which is better post as the Xbone is a good console... but the only reason to buy one over PS4 is for the exlusive game choice (you have to really want Halo and Forza). Performance wise it's had it's bottom spanked a bit. Use your head over heart and the decision is quite an easy one.
I will miss the Forza series but quite happy I purchased a PS4 on release.... and it's not like I'm not allowed to get an xbone sometime in the future if I really want the exclusives
I for one am looking forward to exploring the world of GTA5 on the PS4

I think you are being a touch harsh on the XB1.Pretty much every single dual console release so far has performed better (higher res, faster frame rate, better detail, in some cases significantly) on the PS4 over the Xbone. Not 'fanboy' talk, but proper independent analysis.

"If you’re an Xbox One owner who’s been waiting for vindication that your console isn’t actually 50% weaker than the PS4, this is probably it."

I must admit, I forgot to add in my earlier post that due to the fact I won't be upgrading in the next few months, I will be looking closely at videos of gta on both consoles to compare and if the xbone is very very close then I'll change my mind and have the xbone. But it's gonna have to be close

Oh I think the Xbone is a good console, but the fact that the article you link is actually making excuses right from the off (It's called "Destiny’s graphics nearly identical on PS4 and Xbox One: Maybe the Xbox One can hit 1080p after all " ) demonstrates that the console is not as powerful and the cross console games are at a graphical and performance disadvantage at this time. That has been clear in benchmark tests right from the get go."If you’re an Xbox One owner who’s been waiting for vindication that your console isn’t actually 50% weaker than the PS4, this is probably it."

It's a good console, it really is!! But hardware (and current game) wise it does lag behind and that is cold hard fact. As the developers get their head around both hardware packages maybe the gap will close, however, as they learn to get more out of the Xbone hardware, you can be dam sure the same will be true of the PS4. So will the gap in performance close... or will it actually get slightly wider? Only time will truly tell. It's a horrible question as it just reeks of "my console is better than yours" and that isn't my intention at all, both next gen choices are good.
ps. All the screen shots and in game video released so far on next gen... all PS4. I hope that there is not a performance reason for this on the Xbone. Does it look identical and play at the same resolution? Hope so for Xbone owners.

I was mercilessly attacking a little cluster of other players the other night, would be thoroughly amusing to let loose with a truckfull of bombed cars whilst in "off the radar"...
