I don't know if many people are still on the 360, but it doesn't sound promising regarding future updates to this game.

For @AdiPL0L, @StaringSafe7187 and others asking about why this update is not available for PS3 and Xbox 360, as previously mentioned here on the Newswire (http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52429/asked-answered-the-rockstar-editor-gta-online-updates), future content updates such as this are only possible on the newer and more powerful platforms. As there is not enough memory available to add the game on to the older systems, we cannot make any more meaningful content updates without putting the entire game at risk.

I drop on and off it, been awaiting to see the snow but they did it xmas day only, pretty poor from RS in honesty. Supposedly they're going to do a few snow days through Jan but i'm not going on and off just to check all the while.

It was new years as well! I was throwing snowballs all day yesterday.

I've got an Xbone now so up for some PH next gen shizzle. I'm off Monday-wednesday and try and get on in the evenings although I'm West coast of Yankland so 8 hours behind.

Snow was from 12am Xmas Eve to Boxing Day and again 12am New Years Eve to the end of New Years Day.

I very much doubt you'll see any snow until Xmas eve this year.

I bought the Xbox One version after a long period without playing the game on the 360, and it is very different to what I remember. For one, there's a lot more grinding to get money so you can afford to do the fun stuff you really want to, but at the same time there is so much more content for putting the effort in.

First thing I would do when you get online is go straight to Ammu-Nation and buy a pistol. The starting pistol is very weak, meaning you'll expend more ammo killing people than if you just buy an absolute hand cannon like the Heavy Revolver (less than $10,000). It fires extremely slowly but provided you stay in cover and pop a few shots off, it's absolutely vicious. Nobody withstands more than two shots to the body, and few will take more than one to the head.

Once you've got the cash together, you'll want to buy a garage or an apartment so you have somewhere to store your cars. I would recommend buying the garage and garage only at first (Unit 123 Popular Street is the cheapest in the game, but only allows room for two cars). The reason for this is that you can't organise heists in the cheapest apartments; you have to buy one of the higher-end ones for about $250,000 to be able to start organising heists, so all you really need up until that point are cars.

Speaking of cars, there are numerous free cars you'll find if you go to the Internet option on your in-game phone. The Annis Elegy RH8 is free, yet also one of the most competitive cars in the game. The Duke o' Death is also free, and has some armour plating for extra protection. Those are the two cars I'd suggest to start you off, but I didn't take my own advice. Instead, I bought a van for $13,000 or so with the logic that it effectively works as portable cover, in a 'drive it to the shootout but don't worry about driving it back' sort of way.

The reason I took this route was to buy an office as quickly as possible. The cheapest office in the game is $1,000,000 and allows you to register as a CEO, which gives you more missions and more ways to make money. In hindsight, I wouldn't recommend buying an office too quickly as you still have a good bit more to buy for it afterwards: the vehicle cargo warehouses, the cargo warehouses, etc. all cost more money on top of the office itself.

Having gotten to this point myself, I'm trying to figure out what to do next. An actual warehouse costs more than the office itself does, and there are other things I want to buy as well. Annoyingly, this is where the grind sets in. Realistically what I'd need to do is buy a helicopter (over a million) to form the backbone of the CEO missions, which I can't do until I have a warehouse to store the illicit goods (which is over a million as well).

Note that these experiences all come from the PvE element, as opposed to the PvP st-show that a regular multiplayer lobby devolves into. It might be worth hanging around a regular multiplayer lobby for a while just to see all the crazy stuff people own and can kill you with. There are militarised vehicles in the game as well, and a whole subsection for gun running that I know very little about, as it requires you to own a bunker (over a million to purchase).

There's also drug running, with cocaine and meth as your main bread and butter. From what I gather these missions aren't as profitable as you might have hoped for, rendering the Motorcycle Club you can form if you own a clubhouse less valuable than the other entirely legitimate business ventures you can embark on.

As far as PvE contact missions go, it's always worth putting them on their hard difficulty for the extra money and XP for ranking up. Most of the missions in the game, but not all, can be done solo. Off the top of my head, I'd avoid trying to do 'A Titan of a Job', 'The Los Santos Connection', and possibly 'Stick Up the Stickup Crew' solo. They're all fairly high ranking missions though so you're unlikely to encounter them early in your time online. Otherwise, have at a few of the missions, take your time, and you'll find a lot of them have fairly logical techniques you can reuse time and time again.

I'll send you a friend request and, although I'm not the most talkative person online, I can show you a few of the strategies I rely on for completing contact missions if we're ever online around the same time. Some of them are daft and some of them allow you to complete missions without killing a single person, but they do work reliably.
