Oops not a 599xx, this
Slightly OT, but BMW really need to make road going version of this.

A replacement for the old M Coupe, and with a V8 in it like the GT car.

Back on topic, have they indicated a potential release date for AC yet, or are they running a prolonged Beta access on it?

BMW made the X6M instead! That tells us all we need to know about both BMW and BMW's customer needs and desires.

Do you need mega computing power and graphics cards to run something like this or will it run on a decent specced laptop?

I don't think it would run with your bog standard intel HD4000 graphics but if you've got something better than that then you might get away with it. My graphics card is reasonable but the rest of my spec is quite low (3Ghz amd dual core from a few years back, under 2gb of ram) and mine will run at middle settings.

This all looks/sounds encouraging, never really found anything worth upgrading to since rFactor, which I still enjoy; how does Assetto Corsa compare in driving feel to a decent mod in rFactor?
Much better imho, but no doubt people will vary with their opinions. AC's my favourite sim by a fair margin.

I would agree. Physics are as good, if not better than the better mods for rFactor 2 (my previous favorite). It has the most natural feel to sliding the cars about that I've seen in a sim smile

It has much more atmosphere that the rather sterile iRacing tracks. Hope when they add AI/multiplayer that will further improve.

Big plus point for me is that the game sits in Steam, so should in theory update itself without any issues.

Only downside for me is the sounds, not tried all the cars yet but some sound a bit flat to me.

Rob P, I agree with you about sounds, some (like the Zonda) sound amazing, whereas the 458 sounds a bit odd to me. Apart from that though its fantastic.

I had issues with R factor multiplayer too, even just playing one friend online we had problems where it would only show a few of the cars in that mod or we wouldn't see each other online etc. Whereas netkar was always spot on, even with mods.

May give it a go, Cant remember what spec the graphics card is, but I have 6mg ram and an intel 5 processor I think.

Ah, thank god. I did a 2:34.7 and thought I was miles off.
Down to the 2.36's now, the 'delta' app is useful for hotlapping, but I've only seen this dip to 2.34.9 once, so I've still got some work do to bring a lap together!

Just checking - this is with street tyres?!

Yep. I did my laps with the 'stock' elise SC - street tyres, no 'tuning' selected.

I think a lot of the sounds are just placeholders at the moment, they seem to change them every build.

The F40 is totally animal! Really hard to get a quick lap in!

Anyone up for a PH hot lap challenge? wink

Change it to S3 spec, it's a totally different beast - 600+ hp and slick tyres biggrin

After days of wondering why the car (Exige Scura - I haven't moved off it yet!) was being so twitchy under braking I discovered that for some crazy assed reason my pedals were set up to apply the brakes when I took my foot off the accelerator... So when laying off the gas in the corners, the bloody brakes were going on! Explained a lot. After turning that off and resetting everything I have hit a 1:47.664 at Monza 66, which is much more respectable! Still 3 seconds off top spot according to RSR live timing (which is a great little app, thanks for the tip) but a lot better! Feeling more confident now.

I just bought this and had a go this afternoon, with the Lotus Elise. Looks very nice. However, I can't seem to change the button config on my Xbox controller, I want the X button as the brake, but it won't let me!

Love this game. Superb physics model. Terrible to play using my old ps2 wheel though. Definitely needs a 720deg min wheel to play properly. This could get expensive.

Bit of an anti-climax though to count down the days to announcing something that's ready in Sep 2014 biggrin
