Anyone preordered AC Competizione for console? I’ve played more GT than AC the last year but I’ve gone for it as GT3 are generally the main thing I drive on GT.
Yeah...I have, was a bit disappointed when I saw the launch footage, watched some actual game play on YT and it looks OK, no private lobbies though.

Had a few good races yesterday at imola in the mx5 cup.... Today though is dreadful! People barging around for the first lap of a 30min race, then quoting when they spin off, or smashing into people when rejoining the track... I fking hate online racing.... rage
I think the key to it is to get a good qualifying lap, not many seem to bother, mine is never that great but good enough to be in front of them (2.13 is my best, not great). That way all the idiots are behind you smashing each other off. I feel your pain though, just be glad you are not doing it for real, it would cost a fortune!

The Mugello track is back up on the ACS-UK server, only a 6 lap race and its always full. My username is the same as on here, say hello if you see me on smile

Yep I've preordered a copy.
I play more AC than anything else on my std PS4 and i enjoy gt3/gt4 cars. The official console release videos were absolutely hideous, but one of the Kunos guys did some gameplay videos that look loads better.

There is a little worry about how the 30fps rate will look, but a bigger concern is that it looks like thrustmaster wheels aren't working on it at the moment, and 505 who are basically managing the console version aren't exactly filing me with confidence.

So I pre-ordered my version of ACC for the Xbox months ago, and was pleasantly surprised to have it turn up 5 days early! Some random thoughts...

The game is easier to play with a pad than the previous version. It's less twitchy and you can change settings in the pause menu. And before any of you hardcore gamers start crying about the use of a pad, I will be buying a wheel and pedals once summer is over!

Not sure the frame rate is even 30fps at times, but the weather/time of transitions are pretty beautiful.

Some of the safety rating penalties are a joke. I received one after the AI smashed into me on a slow down lap at Monza's first chicane!

The downshifts on the Lambo sound incredible!

I can't race at Bathurst/Laguna Seca etc at the moment. I'm hoping this will change when the game is actually released.

Well this really hasn’t gone well. After waiting all day to finally play the game, (Xbox one x and thrustmaster TX wheel) the wheel and pedals are not recognised. A post by 505 studio support says to turn off the wheel, start the game with the controller, go into settings and then power on the wheel. Success! I can now leave the pits!

Except I wish I hadn’t. The car goes from lock to lock with the slightest movement of the wheel and the low FPS makes it feel like you have double vision. You can’t use a button box to map the seven thousand different mappable functions , and the stack side scenery pops up like a ps1 game.

Ive turned it off in frustration, it’s too hot to faff Around with basic stuff that should have worked out of the box. Shame. I was looking forward to playing this.

I’m contemplating selling the console and getting a PC!

I played for 10 mins and the PS4 overheated, stripped it and cleaned but still no good, only overheats with ACC, GTS was fine frown.

I adjusted the steering lock to 540 degrees and that made a world of difference. The game feels great to drive now, the sounds are second to none but I’m still getting used to the low frame rate. It’s more apparent than I was expecting unfortunately.

I can live with the 30fps (playing on Xbox One X) and I'm quite enjoying it, even with the controller. The car models are nice and I like the day to night cycle. I think I need to get some better joypad settings though as it's a bit jerky, lock to lock.

Steam Summer sale

Assetto Corsa base game - £3.87
Assetto Corsa Ultimate (with all DLC) - £7.56
seperate DLC if you are missing anything between 99p - £1.29

FYI if you don't have the 3 Porsche Packs (all 99p) get the Porsche Season pass it's only £2.13 instead of £2.97 buying each pack.

Assetto Corsa Competizione - £20.99 (usually £34.99)

This is why you need a PC, the above along with all the free mods available make this a winner, and that's just one game (I also have an xbox to be fair).

Thanks for the heads up, got the things I was missing.

Just need to sort out a new wheel as my old dfgt is making a lot of unpleasant noises.

Cheers I quite fancy a thrustmaster t300 and upgrading to the t-lcm pedals but I might have to wait a bit to get them at a reasonable price as most places are out of stock at the moment.

The load cell pedals haven't been very well received by some prominent users. Worth waiting to see whether the reliability and durability is sorted before buying IMO. They're cheap compared to the alternatives but that seems to be reflected in the quality at this point in time.
