Anyone else have issues with the RSR Live Timing App? I've downloaded it, put it in the correct file etc... and it simply doesn't register. Nothing - not even an error or conflict notification - just nada...
Double check that the files are actually in the right folder - the zip is designed to be extracted in situ, not copied in from elsewhere, so it contains the folder structure within it.

The meat of the files go in: SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\apps\python\RsrLiveTime\

and the icons go in another folder that slips my mind right now... (they won't stop the app working if they're not present though).
I had put everything into the right folder but I hadn't gone three folders into the extraced thing and taken that out as the main file - all working now. Thanks, you made me think about it.

I did exactly the same thing when I installed it. I don't like unpacking uknown zips in an existing programme folder, so unpack it separately and copied it over, but like you got a bit confused with the folders smile

It's a great little app, although I'm having fewer fun drives for the hell of it on road tyres now... As soon as I see a lap time chart I want 10L of fuel on board and stickier tyres!

Good point about the fuel load, will drop that down.

How do the tyres work? I can't see a temp/wear indicator anywhere. Is it a 'feel' thing only?

First goal achieved. First top 50 lap in a reasonable car/track combo. Ferrari 599 at Silverstone. Currently No 42. Long way to go to hit top 10 though.

It is a good app. Nice to have competition against humans rather than just lapping for the hell of it.

I completely agree. My best times are currently 9th, 12th and 14th (Lotus Elise, 49 and Evora). Note that cheating is easy in the game, so you never quite know who's genuine or not; plus some of the drivers use driver aids, which show up, or paddle shift, which doesn't; personally I use three pedals and a gearstick cause I find it more enjoyable smile

H-Gate and 3 pedals all the way for me in the cars that have them as standard.

Good thread on the AC forum regarding the likeness between the sim and RL, btw. thumbup

Ta :-) I was jolly impressed by the comparison, especially the video that guy made of real life and sim side by side over a lap - genius! Since posting on that thread I've driven AC more and I'm noticing a few oddities in the physics, but they don't detract too much from the experience.

I started a thread last week about cheating: how easy it is and asking what the developers are going to do about stopping it. No replies from Kunos yet, but I hope they read it as I've competed in both real and sim races where cheating has ruined everything.

I'll have a bash and see if I can get close to your times when I get a mo.

Cheating - nature of the beast unfortunately. What will probably happen is the Multiplayer will be launched and those inclined will try and find all the holes to exploit. Hopefully then two things will happen - the holes will get plugged by the Devs and the community will start to self-police so that blatant and habitual cheats will get black listed and banned from the leagues and organised races. It would be good if there is a 'Block' function so if you catch someone, you can set it so they cannot join public races you host (league races etc... will most likely be password protected or invite only I'd imagine) or you have the option of avoiding races they are participating in.

I think this game will force me into a new graphics card! The latest update and using the faster cars I see rates drop to 20 fps, and never over 35fps. This is using a nvidia 450gts. What cards are others using and with what results?

I've got everything absolutely to the max and getting around 80fps with a GTX 780 (i5 3570k @ 4.3ghz, 16GB RAM)

I'd expect that to drop a bit once we get other cars on track.

I need to have a look at the optimisation actually and see how hard the GPU & CPU are working. I don't think particularly hard as I can't recall the fans in the case becoming loud, which they do when they're being pushed. I get the feeling that Kunos actually know what they're doing and the product is going to be pretty well sorted by v1.0

Just downloaded this now.

All I need now is a steering wheel, ebay here I come!

Can't get it to run on multiple monitors yet but that can wait

I drive the car standard with the stickier tyres and a bit less fuel - no setup changes.

Cool. I had a few laps on it last night for the first time. It's a very point and squirt track.

La Ferrari has been announced and it'll be in v1.0 when released.

Also, Joux Plane from RBR has been released by kegetys at http://junk.kegetys.fi. It's absolutely insane to drive but good fun in any car.

Fancy a PH Challenge?

Joux Plane in BMW M3 E92 STEP 1.
