Quick question for you all in the know. I run AC on my desktop machine but want the option to run it from my gaming laptop, what's the best way to do this? Can I just copy the steam content folder over (AC is the only thing in there) or do I need to sign in on the laptop and re-download AC?

Thanks

You can try, all the data's under \Steam\steamapps\common.

You'll still need to install it via the steam interface, maybe if you hit install and cancel the download process but go to verify local data it'll sort itself out.

I've not reinstalled the whole steam package in years, just copied it all disk to disk but not needed to copy games, I've always just redownloaded them.

No issues with the graphics card. Well, none that I've noticed.

It's not that old (certainly <6 months) either.

Damn, damn. Damn.

Get on their forums and let them know.

If it's a total fresh install it's something at their end I'm sure, or something that needs to be actioned at their end.

Maybe we'll get a final release some time in 2015.

I had an issue with my graphics card when I first purchased it. It was not showing game menus, turned out to be related to an additional gfx card app (not the Nvidia tools) installed when I installed the card, I turned it off and it was fine.

Has your card installed any additional applications to boost speed, fan control or anything else that is not the nvidia tools or ATi tools that should always be present to manage drivers and settings? If so close it down and try again.

I'll get on both of those ideas!

Just reinstalling drivers now.

Edit to say, reinstalling the Nvidia drivers seemed to do the trick. But the pop up dash is still displayed out of place (top left of the screen, rather than bottom centre)

I've been getting increasingly pissed off with the PC as a games machine. Nothing's ever straight forward whilst the PS4 just works as looks as good... but 2 minutes getting back into A/C reminded me how great they can be. It really is an excellent simulator.

The dash, is an 'app' which you move yourself tongue out

With your mouse.

Yup - you have moved your mouse over to the right of the screen? There's a few more things you might want to try there.

Haha. Damnit.

I'll try moving it (I did try clicking the icon at top right of the 'dash' to make it vanish but nothing happened)

Have you checked out the other apps?

Did you reinstall the same version driver, or an updated one.

It's an oddity in any case, but glad it's now fixed... but wondering how the driver got so buggered up.

I'd be doing a ram test and data integrity check!

As above, there are loads of apps that you can position on the screen, and AC will remember where they are when you next load it up. For example, I have the 'time delta' app which shows me at any point whether I'm faster or slower than my best time (this is great for trying new lines and approaches to corners etc) and I also have a summary of my lap times. The simulated dashboards in all the cars work, but it can be tricky getting a decent view out of the car and of the dashboard - often you can see just the top of the rev counter, which is where the gear and revs app comes in and again, you can put that wherever you want.

How are we all doing with our best laps in terms of RSR records?

http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/index...

I've got a handful on 104% and slowly improving.

On a related note, I tried the Formula Abarth in anger for the first time tonight, in pursuit of an eventual mid-way RSR ranking. Wow! What a difference from say the 12C - no doubt obvious, but blew me away. Still got seconds to claim there.

I've eventually got a new steering wheel for this after my last on lasted about 3 months. I've been on it quite a bit lately, mostly with the E30 M3 (because its the similar to what i drive) on the u.k circuits. I got a couple of records on RSR for U.K tracks but I think that's because not many people are doing the same combinations.

Feel free to add me on steam or post up your usernames: Shakey_jake188

I've borrowed a Oculus Rift DK2 and tried it last night and I have to say I was actually disappointed. The effect is brilliant, looking around and seeing the apex makes things so much better but the quality of the picture was pixelated and a little blurry. I followed settings for getting it perfect but still.

Any thoughts?
