Nope, no options like that. HUD options are 'Full, limited or none' in the menus. And then it doesn't even tell you exactly what changes.

My biggest annoyance right now is the brake pedal. It's far too sensitive but I can't adjust it. And the wheel turns to lock are off in some cars but I can't adjust either!

The clutch control I've worked out is on cars with two pedals but Auto Clutch off, it doesn't pull clutch in at idle do it jitters down the road. Auto Clutch on.
I found issues with the auto clutch setting not working so I just clutch now.

Also to see tyre temps you need tyre wear on. However I think that only shows in telemetry

There's no real time telemetry on console. Is there any on PC?
Out of curiosity do any of these cars in real life come with tyre temp gauges? Maybe the GTR?

Got it for xbox one, loving it.

Playing on a logitech g920 with shifter and it really is phenomenal. Only a couple issues I've run in to so far:

Fps drop online... I mainly do drifting online and it really is hard to play with how much it stutters.

Different steering lock in different cars. Running on 900° rotation which is fine for most but for some of the sportier things it means you have to turn the wheel say 1.5x for 1 rotation in the game, a bit confusing and a hassle jumping in and out to change it.

Private lobbies would be nice but hopefully they can address the odd samell problems along with the big ones (namely fps drop!)

Well after putting in some more hours this weekend I'm still left feeling underwhelmed!

Some of the cars behave in such a strange way it's ridiculous, also there are some that seem to bog down in slow corners and get stuck in neutral.

There isn't any consistency with the level of difficulty either, I've done the Novice and Intermediate series in career now and some are dead easy and others almost seem impossible to catch the lead car!?

Also once you've crossed the finished line, the game waits a few seconds then just throws you into the pit lane where you have to wait an age for the others to cross the line, how stupid is that?

Now I've had a few hours to play this game this is what I think. The physics and force feedback are so much better than anything else I have played.

You can really sense the weight and momentum of the cars. When you crash at the ring into the barriers it feels really real, not like Project Cars where the barriers suck you in (with that horrible scraping noise) and its hard to get off them! Plus the sense of speed is unreal, take the Pagoni on the ring and when you give it full beans down a straight you know you are shifting.

The inside of the cars are really nice too and I like how you can see left/right in all positions you put the camera.

Its also nice and quick when you quit a game to get back to the main menu to select another car/track combo.

Mainly though its the Force Feedback and the physics/handling model - you can take the Ferrari around the track and make it dance by steering on the throttle - you can't really show boat that much in Project Cars as its: slide, then snap over steer which you can't catch.

When the cars slide in project cars you can sense the length of the cars and that when you counter-steer the physics are taking that into consideration.

Once private online lobbies are set up this will be ace.

The track side scenery doesn't look as nice as some others but the main reason you should want a game like this is realism - and in this area the way the cars drive is brilliant!

The feedback I get through my Thrustmaster T300RS wheel is amazing.

Love this game!

+1

Found an empty server last night so me and a friend had a couple of races, we've been racing since GT6 then PCars and we both said that was the most intense racing we'd had.

Long'ish time PC user here. Still untalented at it though.

With the launch on console, it got me back into it. I had 3 great races on the nurburgring endurance track. The three cars were E30 GroupA, Alfa and 190 DTM. It was like being back in the early 90s! Great racing and once you had got past the first corner crazyness, there was some super close racing all the way round the 9 min 40 lap!

I'm pleased that this and Dirt were released on the PC first. Normally PC users get rehashed console games, which are never that great (I own a PS4 as well).

My computer which is a few years old now plays it with a decent framerate, although you can tell it is working the machine hard as the fan is going in overdrive. With the recent heat, after 3 races on the endurance track taming the oversteer and the computer heating up the room, I came out of my little box room sweating! biggrin

To the PC user a few posts above, which tyre pressure/heat addon are you using? I need one to help setup the car better.

We should be able to set a cross platform time trial up, but to me the real fun is racing COMPETENT real people online. I would say it offers 75% of the fun that tracking my car in real life offers. From a £20 game, that is pretty impressive, to me.

By the way, new users, use the McLaren F1 on the Nurburgring Nordschleife , with no driving aids. That is a great challenge, super rewarding when you hook it all up. Having never used it with a controller I may not have this right, but I would say you need a wheel and pedals to do it. Or have a very sensitive throttle finger!

I wonder if that is a fairly new (last 9 months! eek) add on. I don't remember that being available way back when. Great news.

I agree, I should probably go back to it and try and get it round under 7mins - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lErzYi5vSw

If you want a chuckle, take the Ferrari F1 Concept Car on the Nordschleife. That'll put hairs on your chest...

I'm thinking about returning this. It's a real shame - I've had it on pre-order all year and been looking forward to it since 2014. I just don't update my gaming PC any more (and I'd much rather play on my 50" Sony wall-mount than my piddly monitor) so consoles are for me...

...but this game is just so poorly refined. I could trade in and get F1 2016 and have some fun!

It's great to see AC coming to a new audience driving

Here's me in the Lotus 49 at Mugello:

https://youtu.be/OToNN4auZA8

I have the PC version and use a G27 with manual shift and three pedals, which I would highly recommend.

The F1 series of games is awful!! AC is as close to real as I've had on a PlayStation.

I loved F1 2012. Played that game religiously. The subsequent games were a bit st but I hear really good things about this year.

And who really knows how close to real any of these sims actually are?! For example, NONE of the DCT cars I've driven in any racing sim have been close to how they actually work and the simple fact is my team spent €50M & 5 years developing our last one (with most of that in software) vs a few lines of code. So I wouldn't get too hung up on the 'realism' aspect. As long as they feel nice, that's what matters.
