Yes, silly story. I went back to the house recently and there are three armed gunners around (types who wanted the boy originally), if you enter the house and get too close they start shooting, if you open fire on them the parents shoot at you as well. Silly.
I found the reverse that only the Gunners attacked me, but I didn't get too close to the family until all the Gunners were dead.

Didn't have any problems with that bit - killed the Gunners and that was that. I wonder what the kid was eating for 200 years - none of his limbs were missing and it wasn't a particularly large fridge.

Spray 'n Pray - how OP a gun is that! biggrin As I still hadn't found an explosive combat or assault rifle (but plenty of completely useless perk armour), I bought this gun from Cricket having stumbled across a mention of it on the Web somewhere. Completely forgot to equip my charisma gear or take any deal enhancing chems, so paid more for it than I should have but hey ho.

Basically an explosive, silenced .45 machine gun with a great rate of fire and good stability

Give that my Commando perk still isn't maxed, it's a total beast of a gun - it can kill middle level enemies purely by being in the vicinity of the explosion let alone being hit by the actual bullets. Three super mutants (level 20-ish) downed in a blink of the eye.

I love it and it's a great companion to Overseer's Guardian. The only downside per se is that they use the same ammo and Spray goes through bullets like nobody's business if you hold on to the trigger, but use it in bursts and it's devastating

I may even un-auto the explosive shotgun as a result so that it's damage goes up to 300 odd with an advanced receiver equipped

Still want that explosive assault rifle though (and some more useful perk'd armour wouldn't go amiss either)
Spray n Pray is a great gun but cant be modded that much if I recall. Mine disappeared from my inventory for some weird reason. keep looking for the explosive assault rifle and 10mm pistol! I'm still looking for the explosive minigun - only reason I'm still playing the game - well not true entirely I've been doing a lot of melee fighting - getting better at it - took down a Mirelurk Queen with my sword and only a stimpak as chem assistance.

Try going back to the house weeks of in-game time later as I did. How soon they forget. I think there must be an amnesia gas in the atmosphere.

Have you only just got this? I have had it for a while but stopped using it. might go back to it as I have over 8500ronds of .45. Hmmm maybe I could turn it into a .38 and start using some of the 13,000 round I have! smile
Yep, bought it just yesterday after reaching the ripe old level of 65. Have been using Overseer's almost exclusively as my primary weapon (and still do 90% of the time) but I like the sheer explosive overkill this gun dishes out thumbup

No it can't be modded much at all, but it doesn't need to be really

I've got an explosive 10mm pistol but I hardly ever carry it to be honest, seems a bit weedy. But yeah, I look forward to finding and taking down legendary enemies in the hope that one day, one of them will be carrying the explosive assault rifle! So far, the closest I've got to one is an incendiary version, but that's all

Are you sure the explosive minigun actually exists? I seem to remember reading an article that says that not all legendary perks can occur on all weapons

Edit: to say that yes it does! Just watched a video about it. Superb, that is also now on the wishlist

Anyone found the boy in the fridge?

Came across him last night, most plot holey thing i've come across in the game, its almost like it's unfinished.
Yes. I posted about it at the time (it will be pages and pages back now) and how stupid I found it.

I've got Spray 'n Pray and have never used it. Maybe I will give it a go tonight.

TBH, I find that Overseer's Guardian and The Last Minute do everything I need.

Well, that worked rather nicely smile Followed some tips about loot farming and gave it a shot at the National Guard Training Yard ... 15 mins later and I'm now sporting an explosive minigun! It rolled initally as a Mighty variant, but on the very next try, it rolled as Explosive

Chuffed with that given that I didn't really know about it a couple of hours ago

Lucky you. I can t recall any legendary enemies at the NGTG except the sentrybot that appeared the first time.
Are you on pc as on xbox1 if you quicksave and reload the same leg item always appears, never changes.

I'm on PS4 and followed these tips: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3t08jh/farmi...

Switch to Survival difficulty
Quick save just before going into the Training Yard building and the game autosaves as you enter
Shoot the ghouls and check the legendary if it has spawned (it did most of the time)
If the legendary isn't carrying the gun or armour you want, load the quick save and try again. On PS4 at least this does change the item the legendary is carrying
If the legendary IS carrying the gun or armour you want, but has the wrong perk, load the AUTOSAVE and kill it again. This time it will still drop the same gun / armour but with a different perk

Once you've got what you want, save it quick and then you can repeat after 20 game days have passed

So how does this rug glitch work, I'm on PS4 and have tried everything I've seen on line but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas, do I need a specific rug? or has it been patched ?

Edit - Got it to work on the junk fence with tyres, but nothing else, must be doing something wrong

So following this tip, I headed back to the National guard training building and on my first attempt I get an explosive combat shotgun - only been looking for one of these for ages. It got modded to powerful automatic to give 258 damage + the 2 x 15 explosive damage from demolition expert. I then used my usual Super Mutant Warlord at Big John's Salvage to test how it compares in power to my other weapons - in particular I was interested in a head to head with the Le Fusil Terribles rated at 284. Similar power from both guns but one with explosives, the other not. The results really shocked me. The Explosive powerful auto combat
shotgun does OVER 3X the damage of the Le Fusil Terribles per shot!! Shots done at 2-3m distance from target to get maximum impact and using VATS torso shots. In fact the explosive combat shotgun does 15% more damage per shot than my 629 rated Mighty Gauss rifle. Go figure that!!! It is now de facto my most powerful per shot handheld weapon (excludes the missile launcher and fatman variants) and I have tested pretty much most of them. 5 shots takes down a Super Mutant Warlord versus 6 for my Gauss and 17 shots from Le Fusil Terribles. Nice find!. Now where is that explosive minigun?

Very interesting! I wonder if you get the explosive damage per pellet rather than a single 15(x2)? How many pellets are there fired from the shotgun? Would that add up?

That sounds likely. Have to be very careful using it as even with 360 armour it kills me in 1 if an enemy is running at me and I fire it within 2m or so. If they are stationary it is not a problem. Causes big problems with attacking ghouls - have to take them down before they speed at you or shoot running backwards.

Nice one, glad you managed to bag at least something you were after smile And yes, with great power comes great responsibility. Lost count of the number of times I've caused significant damage to myself when using that particular weapon hehe Ghouls in particular are buggers.

I intend to go back in a while and see if I can grab the explosive assault rifle to finish the set!

Expect a nerf soon if that's the case. Borderlands 2 had the same thing with the Conference Call shotgun when combined with The Bee shield. So OP it was insane. Terramorphus (probably incorrect spelling) didn't know what hit him. Pity I was late to the party on that one and still haven't taken that Boss down to this day ....

Still quite new to this, was watching some Youtube vids and decided to build a gateway at Castle.

Took hours, but is quite satisfying to see the result.

Gateway

And then a short one with a revised staircase and balcony

New stairs

Couple of funny things on the second video, I must be a vampire I have no shadow! and no idea why Dogmeat became a flying dog at the end.

I never found a Conference Call despite farming a boss for ages to try to get one. But I did have The Bee shield and it made single player worth playing. When they nerfed it, I didn't enjoy it half as much.
