Ended up on the trail of the cereal company owner. A while later, I've finished that quest. He was ok to kill as I ran back down the corridor, hid around a corner and st him to bits with my laser rifle (that uses fire inducing rounds).

The hardest part of the quest was right at the beginning. On leaving the city at the start, I ran into 3 or 4 super mutants. One had a missile launcher. Took a few attempts to get that lot killed.

Can anyone recommend decent side quests that actually have a story line, not the clear out and return quests. I've now completed this on my second save, level 30, X-01 power armour, 140 damage baseball bat, 250+ stimpacks etc etc. Running out of things to do to level up.

During building my masterpiece at Red Rocket I hit the size limit, this workaround might be useful for others.

Finally got to Diamond City! 19 in game days in. No way to see actual time played as the save file thinks I've played it for 6 days!

I just took an assault rifle off a dead raider - 50% extra damage to Super Mutants. It is a two hit kill for a normal mutant....
Not seen one yet. Eyes open as that will help.
Encountered Nuka grenades whilst standing near a car....

Quick save on XB1 always corrupt. Luckily I always proper save before switching off and that seems OK.
Anyone else?
Also I never get frame drop to zero in game, unless saving.
This kept happening to me but like you I saved a couple times before turning it off. Managed to stop them from corrupting by saving and then quitting to the main menu before turning the xbox off rather than saving and turning it straight off.

Actually did some of the main story last night (Level 28, so about time)..

Joined the 3 main factions, need to do a few missions for each and decide where my allegiances are.

Same for me. Save, and exit the game via the menu before turning off.

Nearly 2 weeks since launch and I finally got to Diamond City (at a heady level 10) and quickly retreated back to the NW corner of the map since stuff was killing me quite easily - I wanted to get there to unlock it, but it's clear I'm massively under levelled to actually do anything useful in and around that area

Tried to do a side quest that involved liberating a water treatment plant and that was my first exposure to the super mutants. Erm, no. Having died a few times (those suiciders are complete sods), gave up on that and went back to exploring in an effort to level up a bit (need to get to about 15 or so). I didn't seem to be inflicting much damage to them at all. There was one that was a complete bullet sponge, perhaps I'll come back in my power armour or something.

Found the ration bunker and my first couple of legendary raiders! First one dropped me an armour piece which sadly isn't as good as the current combat armour I'm sporting but the second gave me an irradiated pipe pistol that doles out 50 rad damage per hit, now that will be useful thumbup

Some gunners dropped an incendiary laser pistol too and a night vision scoped sniper, so well worth going back to mop up the locations I had yet to explore

Still yet to get around to settlement building and providing water for Sanctuary, but I can't get excited about Sims-a-like gameplay to be honest hence why aside from building a couple of turrets and blocking the Sanctuary bridge access, I've done nothing with any of the settlements (low Charisma build also means no supply lines for me)

I had a wander around the glowing sea last night.

Interesting to see there's a lot of places outside of the square map boundary.
Lots of deathclaws, half the creatures out there appear to be legendary, and I also found a sentrybot model kit.

Some other junk I came across was a baseball card and a signed baseball glove.
They don't appear to do anything unusual though, maybe part of another quest.

The glowing sea forms part of the main quest.

They are. The quest giver is in Diamond City.

(I don't believe that is a spoiler, hence no spoiler tag)

I'm at about the same place. At level 12 and the time and I have to play this is a bit limited at the moment and what time I do spend seems to fly by when playing this so I've not really gone for building superforts. I've just put up some rudimentary defences and resources at Sanctuary and that's about it. Two of my settlements which don't have turrets have been attacked but I've managed to rush over and save the day. If these attacks start to become annoying I may need to spend more time building them up but I'm having too much fun exploring and building stuff at the moment.

You CAN take supermutants at that level but I've found the trick is not to take them head on. Find yourself a decent sniper rifle, mod it if you can then then just pick them off from afar. If you can manage to shoot the nuke on the suicide mutant, it will explode with one hell of a big beautiful BOOM and usually take out anything else in the vicinity. As long as you are far enough, anything else you should be able to deal with before they get too close. Also swap dogmeat for Codsworth, he packs a wallop in melee, seems to soak up a lot more damage and ties enemies up for longer allowing you to shoot them at leisure.

Have a chat with people around Diamond city. There's a particular guy who might be interested in items of a historic baseball type.

Still not finding this game particularly hard, not sure if I've done too much side stuff before getting to Diamond City but I might have to bump it up again to Very Hard and see what it's like.

Same, but usually for daft reasons. But I quicksave so often that if I do get killed, I restart about 30 seconds back laugh

I think I'm finding the same. Although I tend not to wander too far from where I get sent for missions etc, I've really only had one or two encounters which have been really tough and I've been killed. I may try sticking it to hard and seeing how I get on.

She seemed to respond best to laser or plasma weapons. I hid in the diner and took pot-shots, admittedly not on survival level.
