If the Pip-Boy was really that big, it should be a weapon in its own right!
In the game they don't have the benefit of transistors, so that'd be a tiny little CRT on your wrist. I bet they have one arm far stronger than 'tother in those vaults.

Fo4 for the XBOne to be compatible with mods made for the PC version

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-15-fallo...

Kinda underlines the fact that XBoxes are, and always have been, cut down PCs. The XBOne especially so.

Its so not possible that PC mods will be compatible that I can't believe they stated this. The Xbox is so closed while the PC and creation engine is so open that I cant even fathom how they could state this. XBone owners must be the most gullible people alive right now. Most skyrim mods require a mod SKSE that changes and adds the base scripting language.

Possibly this might mean that Mods in FOUT4 will all be st due to locked down XBONE downgrade engine.

Or that only compatible mods will be able to go onto the XB1. Plenty of mods for FNV that don't need FOSE etc. Maybe it'll come pre-extended? (Not that it'll affect me, I'll be sticking to PC until I win the lotto).

Maybe they so know more about it than you, and they are so going to add some kind of modding API and extended scripting engine so that modders can so make compatible mods? And they so would not have announced it unless it was so going to be possible?

wink

Well don't forget now that the Playstation and Microsoft machines are essentially the same. They use the same kind of x86 processors from AMD and the same kind of graphics hardware (also from AMD). What works on one shouldn't be difficult to make work on the other. I suspect what is allowing MS to do this is the fact that XBOne is, or will be in a few months, running a version of windows that isn't too far removed from the desktop versions. Everything is getting a version of Windows 10, desktops, laptops, mobile devices even Internet of Things devices.

Hopefully there will be some vetting process. Some of the Fallout 3 mods are brilliant, but some are horrible.

2 babies so far with another 2 due.

Is there a way of attracting more dwellers in?

I've sent out a couple of scavengers, but only seem to be getting one every now and then arrive at the vault door.

You can get the radio studio once you have enough residents, but its not guaranteed to get someone each time. You can also get them as cards from lunchboxes for completing the challenges. Won't let you have incestuous relationships either!

I've spent far too much of the last 36 hours playing this game...

Fallout 3 but worth a watch, even if it's just the first minute.

The E3 talk is amazing.

They've gone mental with the crafting. You can build an entire town, erect power, install turrets, have traders come and set up shop with you... it's like The Sims or Second Life. And this is an entirely optional thing, so not required to progress the story. But it's the kind of thing that will probably keep me playing for months if not years after I've "finished" the game.

They're also talking about over 50 base weapons and over 700 modifications for those weapons. So you can create pretty much unique personal weapons for your character.

You can even heavily modify your own power armour. And when wearing it, the first person UI changes with a HUD.

Why is the Xbox more of a PC than the PS4? And would that be a bad thing?

Because XBox has always been essentially a PC architecture - even the original - and Sony's consoles have always in the past had custom architectures. I understand that PS4 is essentially a PC architecture now though.

Anyway, this is probably rather off-topic.
