The hardware is very similar in both and is PC architecture - the Xbone is arguably more like a PC because it will be running win 10 - at least for the OS part...albeit i believe the games run on their own OS (rather than inside W10 on a PC)

Good timing for it's release as we will be in those long dark evenings. The more I read about it the more I like it having been a Fallout/Oblivion fan from the start.

It is summertime where I am when it gets released.

However, they do say too much sun is bad for you so it is all good smile

Oh, and it looks fantastic.

It still works on your phone, even without the model PipBpy. Get a wrist mount and you're there. It's not as if the PipBoy controls work anyway.

No, because the glitches will be patched, probably on the day the game is released. Most things have a day one patch now. Gone, long gone, are the days of buying a disc of a game that was bugged when it was released and being stuck with it like that.
By all accounts, they never really solved the problems that Fallout 3 had on the PS3 ... which is worrying as the hype surrounding Fallout 4 prompted me to finally dig out my Fallout 3 GOTY disc (which I bought ages ago but never even unwrapped) and start playing it on my PS3.

Hope I don't end up with the game glitching so bad after 40-50 hours of play that I more or less have to abandon it.

That's like asking why someone would buy a Ferrari F355 instead of a Mk2 MR2 on the grounds that the MR2 looks a bit like the F355, especially with the addition of a body kit, and both get you from A to B. wink

Buying a 355 kitted MR2 over a standard MR2 is a more apt example.

Well, all arguments are invalid anyway - it's a fking PipBoy. An *actual* PipBoy.

And you get a free copy of the game thrown in. And that has a steel cover too. And you get some other cool st too.

And all that is only £100.

If this doesn't make you hyperventilate then really you are in the wrong thread. wink

Fo4 for the XBOne to be compatible with mods made for the PC version

Kinda underlines the fact that XBoxes are, and always have been, cut down PCs. The XBOne especially so.
Why is the Xbox more of a PC than the PS4? And would that be a bad thing?
Assume there will be some kind of vetting procedure for this, I predict the nude mod will arrive approximately 6 minutes after the launch

It isn't though, because none of its knobs and buttons work.

They don't work in the game either, you use a mouse pointer, or your finger on the smartphone screen.

So it's very realistic biggrin

Any info on a version in between? Generally when there's a big game due out like this, they'll do the regular version in plastic case for ~£45, special / limited edition for ~£60 usually with steelcase and some DLC, and then a collectors edition for ~£100 with physical stuff like figurines.

9 times out of 10 I go for the middle version as it's nice to have that steelcase.

Doesn't look to be a "middle" version at present. It's the standard version for £43 or the Pip-Boy edition for £99. I've gone for the Pip-Boy simply because this is the gaming event of my life.

From what I've read there's no extra in-game content for the expensive version though.

So started a new play of Fallout:NV for a bit of fun. Only three hours in and hit a game ending crash...

Do hope Fallout 4 isn't a buggy POS!
