Yeah that is a benefit of not running armour, the Clean Black Suit is either CHR +2 or +3, which I team with either the black bowler hat or black formal hat, both of which give an additional +1 CHR. This combo coupled with some grape mentats gets me almost 50% discount at traders vs when in my normal armour! hehe
Yup. I mentioned this a few pages back. For maximum effect add a pair of "fashionable glasses" to that for an additional +1 CHR on top of everything you have listed.

Yes, I'm much the same. Generally when not in Power Armour, my character tends to favour either her Vault 111 jump suit or a pretty blue dress (which gives +2 CHR). For guys, I believe that the "shirt and slacks" outfit also gives +2 CHR.

Pfffttt what you really want is the laundered green dress. This allows you to run 'shoulder pads' for even more CHR. Even more funny when your character is a bloke! Lol

Max when you say 'give them artillery' do you mean give the villages rocket launchers? I'm trying to up armour my villages with combat rifles etc. is it better to invest in RPGs instead?
Not my screenshot, I have one at Sanctuary high up. When you have taken the Castle and done some other housekeeping quests you unlock some meaty firepower.

Artilliary spoiler (just in case)

Use smoke grenades to mark a target run away and the artilliary will pound the area.
That it im getting these tonight. Can you get multiple in each base?

Shoulder pads that give +CHR? Not come across those. Where do you get them from?

Edit: I just learned that if you complete the Curtain Call side quest you get a gender-appropriate outfit that gives +3 CHR so I think I will be doing that tonight. smile

As many as you can make, you can put them anywhere, although the Castle has 5 purpose areas for them.

Under the floor section is the ground foundation leveller. Concrete block you can adjust the height of and build into the ground/rubble.

From Wikia: "The range of the artillery is approximately 5 squares on the Pipboy map, and increasing the number of pieces per settlement increases the bombardment time when used."
Thanks! Should help plan where to build more guns smile

I've encountered a group of feral ghouls which, by their names, were probably the Sole Survivor's neighbours hehe

That, plus hat, plus glasses get me max Chr.
It's also not all you get from that mission.

Gets on my nerves how ungrateful settlers can be. I give them shelter, a LOT of gun turrets (missiles, lasers too), spotlights, guard towers, nice clean beds, plenty of food and water, a basketball hoop, a pretty minutemen flag and even a nice little shop and STILL their happiness is decreasing?!?! What more do they want?

I looted the body of the Courser I killed that's quite a neat looking outfit with a beret and shades.

Indeed. You get another possible companion.

One thing to point out is that there isn't a cap on CHR, or rather, there is a base max but clothing and meds that boost CHR can boost it beyond max.

So I got Agatha's Dress (since my character is female) which gives +3 CHR, hat +1 CHR, glasses +1 CHR, grape Mentats +5 CHR, and my character already has very high CHR, so that actually puts it way beyond max CHR for my character.

I'm finding the control on the PS4 dual-shock a real pain at times when trying to manoeuvre things like getting Cait into power armour etc, and the linking of power cables has prevented me from completing the fusion transfer thingy because I can't be bother to bugger around with it although it could be just me not being practiced enough.
So far though no major crash problems apart from getting wedged in stairs and things when in power armour then I've had to load a previous save to get out of it.
Haven't really tried the settlement building yet but it reminds me in some ways of a close up Age of Empires in some ways which is not a bad thing.

That dress also has 5 levels of armour plating, afaik superior to any other single-piece of armour
