One thing that is a little poor in Fo4 right now is choice of hats. I know, it's a very minor gripe. But in Fo3 and Fo:NV there were some ladies hats, whist Fo4 seems to only have unisex or masculine hats. And whilst a Trilby or military beret is perfectly fine for a lady to wear, they don't exactly go with a nice dress.
I'm sure that when the GECK-equivalent is released, then there will be a mod for that.

Gets on my nerves how ungrateful settlers can be. I give them shelter, a LOT of gun turrets (missiles, lasers too), spotlights, guard towers, nice clean beds, plenty of food and water, a basketball hoop, a pretty minutemen flag and even a nice little shop and STILL their happiness is decreasing?!?! What more do they want?
I had one ask me about getting more beds. Killed him - problem sorted.simo1863 said:

Do I want CURIE as a companion?
I accidentally asked her to come along thinking dogmeat wouldn't be sent home (as he doesn't count as a real companion). But off he went and I lost the effect of my lone wanderer perk. But Curie can give you aid when you need it so that is a useful thing to have (not that I've run low on aid mind). I am thinking I'll just go to the save before I asked her and just keep the dog.

Annoyingly, I've started running out of screws. I'm doing alright for adhesive and I have an abundance of aluminium, but I never seem to have enough screws anymore.
Got some pretty hefty weapons now though. Combat shotgun with a 25% damage bonus and a 50 cal sniper rifle with a 10 point plasma damage bonus and a chance to gooify on critical hits. I made my combat rifle .308 calibre as well so it's a semi auto sniper rifle.

As with anything you are short of, you can tag it and when you find junk containing it then you'll get little magnifying glass against the junk item when you find it. A surprising number of junk items contain screws. The Scavenger perk is worth having too, as when you have it and you scrap guns you get more back than just metal - you get screws, springs, gears, etc. as well.
I actually ran out of wood last night, and had to spend a while going round Sanctuary looking for trees, stumps and wooden items to scrap. There seems to be a real disparity between how much wood something would yield in real life and how much it yields in-game. A broken double bed in one of the houses yielded 20 wood, as did a slender maple tree. However, a much larger tree yielded only 12. A large dresser cabinet that looks to have at least as much wood as the broken bed yields only 1 or 2 wood. Very odd.
Anyway, I know have wood (ooer, missus) but I do wonder what I will do when that is gone. Hopefully I'll have encountered a new settlement with lots of wood by then, although Sanctuary does seem to be the most resource-rich so far.

You probably told dogmeat to go back to sanctuary, so if you want him just go back there and tell him to follow you then Curie will ask where to wait.I accidentally asked her to come along thinking dogmeat wouldn't be sent home (as he doesn't count as a real companion). I currently have Cait following me around, not only do I find her crazy talk quite amusing but she can literally pick any lock, expert doors, no problem, master safe, a doddle. Considering I haven't put many points into that skill so most locks are off limits to me, this is a godsend. I hate the thought of missing out on decent loot because I can't open a damn door\safe.
Oh she is also pretty decent in melee too.

In Fo3 and Fo:NV, you could have one non-human companion (eg. Dogmeat, Rex, whatever) and one human (or equivalent) companion. It seems that there isn't the same distinction in Fo4 other than the fact that Dogmeat doesn't count for the Lone Wanderer perk. I'm sure there will be a multiple companion mod at some stage. But in the meantime it looks like you can't have Dogmeat and another permanent companion (I say permanent, as in some cases you get a temporary companion as part of a quest and this doesn't require you to dismiss your permanent companion).

Yep going to give this a go too as although I've not run out of ammo yet, I'm not exactly flush either and I sometimes die because I am trying to conserve ammo when I should be smashing that fire button as fast as I can.
Also my weapons and armour are pretty lame at the moment, my most powerful sniper rifle only does about 77 damage. I've done some basic modding but need to get access to the higher upgrades, I've got gun nut level 2 I think but some mods are still locked out, how do I get the option to fit suppressors for instance?
I can't remember exactly what my most powerful weapons are but I can one hit super mutants as a sneak attack with my Ninja / Rifleman perk. Also my weapons and armour are pretty lame at the moment, my most powerful sniper rifle only does about 77 damage. Regarding the supressors, I have the option to add a supressor under "muzzle" at my gun-crafting table
