It isn't though, because none of its knobs and buttons work.
Seems that many people do not share your concerns.

I hope they do make more, because I've been unable to get one yet.

Only just seen the 30-minute E3 video - wow! The base building looks amazing! I hope they stick to the November release date, I'll need a week off work..

Climbing aboard the hype train for this, didn't think I would due to being disappointed with New Vegas. What ive seen so far looks pretty good though.

Got me enough in the fallout mood to start playing through Fallout 2 again, almost forgot how great it was.

Don't forget New Vegas wasn't a Bethesda game, I couldn't get in to it either.

The problem I had with Fallout 3 is that it was just too damn depressing!

That's exactly what I missed in New Vegas. Death was always just around the corner in 3.

Indeed. In Fo3 there was a real Post-Apocalyptic vibe of humanity struggling to survive amidst the ruins of civilisation, and barely holding on by its fingernails. Where even clean drinking water was in terribly short supply.

In Fo:NV everyone seemed fairly comfy, a lot of tech had survived intact (with Mr. House), there was thriving civilisation (with gambling halls and hotels even), and the NCR allegedly growing fields of wheat, and everyone seemed to be doing pretty well. It was barely Post-Apocalyptic at all.

I much preferred the vibe of Fo3 and I hope that's where they take it with Fo4.

Maybe because it was so brown and colourless made it more depressing for me. I'd agree that Fallout 3 was much more post apocalyptic!

Fallout new vegas was kind of a follow up to fallout 2, and in 1 and 2 people had started to rebuild stuff properly, it wasn't all cobbled together out of junk, places like vault city were pretty neat and tidy with proper buildings.

I do like the fallout 3 cobbled together aesthetic though, but it's debateable how realistic it is, making bricks isn't rocket science. (of course, we don't play fallout for realism)

Fallout 3 was over 200 years after the Apocalypse, New Vegas even longer, so they would have learnt to rebuild and grow food in low radiation locations away from major cities like the desert.

Stepping out of the vault for the first time in FO3 is up there for me as one of the most memorable gaming moments, and perfectly encapsulated the "go anywhere, do anything" design of the game.

Things were pretty grim outside The Strip though with most of the town in ruins and crime everywhere. New Vegas did have that interesting theme of the NCR trying to re-establish the old order, and the various degrees of resistance from people used to the new way of life

Anyway, back to Fallout 4.

Rumour has it that the Pip-Boy edition instantly sold out but that Bethesda have managed to get some more made.

http://www.bethblog.com/2015/06/23/fallout-4-pip-b...

Seems that Game UK have the gig for us, and they are still showing Out of Stock and also their Email Alerts system isn't working.

I can't believe that I may have missed the boat with there still being 5 months until release date. I'll be sick as a parrot (not necessarily a Norwegian Blue) if I don't get this version.

Which sadly turned out to be false. Unless it sold out again in a matter of hours in the intervals between the times I have been checking. frown
