I finished the first DLC last night, and found the final battle quite tough. It's the first time I've had to spam my stimpaks.
I think the story and added robot building was well worth the price. My only gripe is that all robot mods are now automatically available, as I quite like finding them on the robots that I've destroyed.

Same with the stimpaks though its more because, being level 76 (on normal mode!) I am now used to just standing there in a fire fight and not bothering to hide. But there are so many quite powerful robots I was having to hit the stimpaks quite regular. I was very grateful for being in power armour with that special helmet you can get off the BoS that replenishes your AP very quickly. Ideal as my two favourite weapons are a maxed out Gauss Rifle (last minute) and maxed out Plasma Rifle (Overcharged something or other that I picked up off a legendary animal). Turns most things to goo in one shot and is ridiculously accurate (nearly always 95% hit chance in VATS).I think the story and added robot building was well worth the price. Was fun doing the mass fusion building after siding with the institute at the last minute. Coming down in the lift just one-shotting every BoS goon with the gauss rifle like some kind of god-like creature. In fact I wish someone could mod in the announcer from Unreal Tournament when on a rampage.... "ULTRA KILL!"

I hit level 78 during the battle. I'm not sure that my tactic of hacking all of the robots to incite them against each other was the smartest. I got there in the end though.sidaorb said:
Got caught by the PS4 glitch which means I now can't clear it, because I threw the switch at the boat before I found the caravan.
I'm looking on Fallout Wiki but I can't find an exact way to avoid this bug. What do you need to do, do you need to find this caravan first before turning on the switch?
From looking online you have to go to the boat, turn on the generator, then turn on the radio tower... ?

If you goto the boat and throw the switch BEFORE finding the caravan then the glitch makes it impossible to throw the switch in the caravan.
You need to goto the van first, read the note, then back to the boat, throw the switch then return to the caravan and then you can activate it.
Oh and I forgot to mention, kill st loads of stuff in between!
If like me you are looking forward to taking on the likes of Wimpey Homes and McAlpine Construction after the next DLC you are going to need concrete....truck loads of concrete....you can get shipments of it from Connie Abernathy @ Abernathy Farm or Daniel Finch @ Finch Farm so start stocking up now.
You're going to need wood too so worth stocking up on that too.

Is the Workshop DLC simply a load more things you can build or does it actually change the construction interface?
The interface of trying to build everything in first person really pissed me off after a while and stopped me doing more. I thought pretty soon when starting playing that some sort of "god mode" view with menus and lists for stuff like assigning settlers to tasks etc would be loads better.

UI is the same. just a tone more stuff, some of it is useful (ground based water Purifier) a lot of it is silly stuff (see above)The interface of trying to build everything in first person really pissed me off after a while and stopped me doing more. Yes it bloody fiddly system, I often have to build a platform, so i can build in that area, then delete the platform.
A 'god mode' is whats needed, I would like to see a 'snap on/off' feature too.
As Tom says ^^^^ but once you learn some of the tricks it can be great fun.

"The Radstags head" - Well done sir! My Egrets Tour Marina build video walkaround.
I'm really struggling to motivate myself to finish the game. The whole crafting/building thing isn't really my bag and I really can't stand any of the 3 main 'organisations'.
The story just isn't gripping me at all, and the exploring/side missions seem a chore.
A couple of times I have turned it on, looked at my quest log and just turned it off again
I am sorely tempted to just slaughter absolutely everyone in the institute, railroad and BOS as they're all just so awful.

Thats my plan, they are all asshats. Going to rob each faction blind and then kill them all. Does anyone know if its even possible to make all 3 an enemy? I would assume that it would prevent you from completing the game? I recon you could make them enemies but it wouldn't probably deny the main story quest lines to you which is why I haven't done it yet, I'm an achievement wh*re!
The first time I met Shaun (Shawn?) at the Institute I got sick of his sh*t pretty quickly and blew his head off with a combat shotgun, but that then messed up the BOS quests apparently so I had to reload it did however seem to put the Minutemen on a kind of war footing and opened up some new quests there, could be fun to explore.
