There's a lot of chatter and hype about this at the moment. Bethesda registered Fallout 4 as a trademark a couple of weeks ago and at the same time this website appeared;

http://thesurvivor2299.com/

The website is currently down, but it should be back up. There were two counters on the website. One that counted down to "Nuclear Winter is coming..." which arrived this evening. The second is for another 10 days or so. Along with the counters there have been various Morse code messages and cryptic clues all pointing to Fallout.

I really hope this isn't a hoax a la Halflife 3.

I'm praying this is genuine. I thought this had been exposed as a hoax along with the recent Shenmue 3 copyright application?

What are you doing man?! F3 is so much more immersive than NV with a much richer storyline. You might not like the older style weapons of F3 after the goodies in NV though. F3 is in bargain buckets all over. Pick up a copy and say goodbye to a month of your life.

Lets hope they fix the random crash/freezes that plague F3 and NV

With PS4 and XBone architecture being much more closely related to PC stuff the port over should be much easier for the developer and glitches will hopefully be a lot fewer.

Nah I think it'll be an announcement regarding a future release rather than the release itself. They're probably still focus on Elder Scrolls Online at the moment.

I very much doubt it unfortunately. I'm hoping it's going to be a release date reveal for some point in the first half of 2014, although I imagine Christmas next year is more likely.

I will be buying shortly, may as well go for game of the year edition if there are a few left over.

This.

Also, thesurvivor2299.com is owned by ZeniMax Media, who own Bethesda Game Studios. So, it's legit.

I loved Fallout 3, coming out of the vault for the first time and seeing the vast expanse in front of you that you could explore is up there with one of my most memorable gaming moments.

I agree btw - I never finished NV - got bored. F3 is in my top 5 games ever.

Fallout 3 GOTY edition is a must buy for any gamer. One of the greatest games easily. Very much looking forward to F4.

I really enjoyed F3, and even most of the DLC (the UFO one was a bit silly though). The writing was very good with lots of layers to it, especially some of the logs from just after the bombs dropped.

It looks like Fallout 4 will be in Massachusetts - plenty of references to "The Institute" which is expected to be MIT in Boston (sort of) and Quabbin Reservoir which is upstate:

http://goo.gl/maps/wwx1i

The distance between the two is roughly the same as the real-life distance between downtown DC and Raven Rock, MD.
