Tried multiple different methods on survival difficulty and he always gets one shot to the head..

I also struggled to save him and kept reloading. On one playthrough I ended up using (colour) mentats and a drink to up my CHR and convince Sinjin to attack me first then took them out. On my second playthough I did exactly what you posted in the video. It makes no difference other than not getting the spiel, but once you've heard it, you've heard it.What did you do at the end to save him? They attack instantly after any conversation etc.
